  • Publication number: 20230166176
Abstract: A binding for a snowboard, a kitesurf or a wakeboard, including a base, a highback that is movable around a first axis of rotation mounted on the base and a lever, of which a power lever arm controls, rotatably relative to the base, a resistance lever arm that cooperates with the highback to move it around the first axis of rotation between an open position and a closed position. The lever pivots around a second axis of rotation mounted on a bow of the base and in opposition to a toe strap relative to the first axis of rotation so that the power lever arm can be used as a ramp in counterforce against a stopper of the toe strap to move the highback between the open position and the closed position.

  • Patent number: 9592438
Abstract: A binding system is mounted atop a rider-support surface of the board. The binding system comprises: a pair of rails locatable on opposing sides of a generally flattened foot-receiving surface for the rider's foot, each rail comprising a central portion mountable to the recreational board, a toe-side leg which extends from the central portion toward a toe-side of the recreational board and a heel-side leg which extends from the central portion toward a heel-side of the recreational board. Each rail is moveably coupled to a corresponding stand-off flange of a base.

  • Patent number: 8910968
Abstract: Binding systems for recreational boards are provided. A binding system is mounted atop a rider-support surface of the board. Portions of the binding system are pivotal with the rider's foot and with respect to the board. This pivotal motion may allow the rider to have greater control over the application of weight to the heel and/or toe edges of the board. In particular embodiments, the binding system comprises: a base rigidly mounted atop rider-support surface of the board; and a foot-retainer pivotally mounted to the base via pivot couplings for pivotal motion of the foot-retainer relative to the base and the board.

  • Patent number: 7300070
Abstract: Aspects of this invention provide binding mounting systems for recreational boards. The board comprises a longitudinally extending chamber corresponding to each binding. The binding mounting system includes a slider assembly comprising a slider member, at least a portion of which is disposed to move longitudinally within the chamber and a slider retaining mechanism for engaging the slider member. The slider assembly is adjustable to a first configuration wherein the slider member is longitudinally moveable relative to the chamber and to a second configuration wherein the slider member is fixed relative to the chamber. The binding mounting system also comprises a binding positioned atop a rider support surface of the board and a binding retaining mechanism for engaging the slider and/or the slider retaining mechanism to couple the binding thereto.
