  • Publication number: 20240011593
Abstract: In various aspects, the present disclosure provides an example autonomous microsystem for immersion into a fluid. The autonomous microsystem includes electronics, a power source, and a packaging system that surrounds the electronics and the power source. The electronics can be configured to sense and record one or more environmental conditions. The packaging system may include a deformable shell that defines an internal space and a plurality of filler particles disposed in the internal space and configured to control a density of the autonomous microsystem in relation to the fluid. The filler particles may comprise a low-density material having a bulk density greater than or equal to about 100 kg/m3 and less than or equal to about 1,000 kg/m3 and have a packing density greater than or equal to about 1011/m3 and less than or equal to about 1021/m3.

  • Publication number: 20230382363
Abstract: A system for monitoring stroke of a spring brake actuator of a vehicle comprises a spring brake actuator having a push rod, wherein pneumatic activation of the spring brake actuator causes the push rod to further extend out of the spring brake actuator to thereby activate braking of the vehicle, and wherein pneumatic deactivation of the spring brake actuator causes the push rod to retract back into the spring brake actuator to thereby deactivate braking of the vehicle. A first magnet and a second magnet are coupled to the push rod, and the second magnet is spaced apart from the first magnet. A sensor is configured to sense a magnetic field created by the first magnet and the second magnet, and a controller is configured to determine stroke of the push rod based the magnetic field.

  • Patent number: 10913439
Abstract: A spring brake actuator is for braking a wheel of a vehicle and has a push rod assembly having a base located in a service brake chamber and a push rod extending from a service brake chamber. Pneumatic activation of the spring brake actuator causes the push rod to further extend out of the service brake chamber to thereby engage a wheel brake with a wheel of the vehicle. Pneumatic deactivation of the spring brake actuator causes the push rod to retract back into the service brake chamber to thereby disengage the wheel brake from the wheel of the vehicle. The push rod extends between a first end portion that is fixed to the base and an opposite, second end portion that is removably coupled to the first end portion so that the second end portion is manually attachable and detachable from the push rod assembly.

  • Publication number: 20070016785
Abstract: A system and method for digital signature captures an electronic rendition of a user's handwritten signature, initials or other writing on a digitizer tablet interfaced with a personal computer, workstation or other computing device. A software plug-in incorporates the signature into the electronic document. The software then hashes the signed document to create a message digest of the signed document which is then encrypted using the user's private key. The recipient of the signed document can authenticate the sender's digital signature by recreating the hash and by decrypting the encrypted hash using the sender's public key. If the locally recreated hash matches the decrypted hash, then the digital signature is authenticated.

  • Patent number: 4134291
Abstract: To determine the characteristics of resistance to movement of an automobile vehicle several test runs are made with the internal combustion engine and transmission replaced by a working electric motor and drive to the wheels, and dummy engine and drive components to simulate the airflow resistance of these parts. Two separate tests at the same speed are made with and without a tare weight and from the power absorbed by the electric motor, in each case measured in terms of the electric power fed to the motor, and taking into account the efficiency of the motor and of the drive transmission connecting it to the drive wheels, the delivered power is determined. Subtraction of the delivered power values gives an indication of the power loss due to the effect of the tare weight on the rolling resistance, and hence the rolling resistance coefficient.
