  • Publication number: 20100045075
Abstract: A fixed transparent module (FTM) for the roof of a vehicle having glass for cementing to the roof support surfaces to form a continuous seal; at least one compensation part running essentially parallel the roof support surface in a manner defining a space of substantially constant dimension between said outside surface of the compensation material and said roof support surface for receiving a cement layer of constant thickness; and at least one trim ring attached to said glass pane having a guide pin and attachment points, wherein said glass pane has added support, attachment points for additional features, and allowance for proper alignment of FTM to a vehicle body. Calibration stops can be added having a height that corresponds to the desired cement thickness of the cement layer. A reinforcement assembly, electric or manual sun shades can be added or, alternatively, the glass can be self darkening or use photoelectrochromic technology.

  • Publication number: 20080284213
Abstract: An arrangement and process for conversion of a single panel sunroof into a two panel sunroof uses corner adaptor pieces with planar sides that form an outside corner and a concave inner contour extending between ends of the planar sides, the contour being matched to a rounded corner curvature of a cover panel of a single panel sunroof, such that two such cover panels having corner adaptor pieces thereon can seal relative to the roof opening and relative to each other within the roof opening. A roller blind assembly enables a roller blind to be added by the provision of track inserts for guiding of the roller blind during opening and closing thereof, each of the track inserts being attachable at an inner side of a respective guide track on the sunroof frame.

  • Patent number: 7048327
Abstract: A cover panel for closing a roof opening has a panel body, a support frame for the panel body, and a seal member having a substantially rigid mounting portion mounted on an edge of the support frame and extending around an outer circumferential edge of the panel body, and a resilient hollow seal portion for engaging the outer circumferential edge of the panel body. An arrangement is provided by which water passing between the seal portion and the circumferential edge can pass be drained away. Furthermore, a glass support portion of the seal member is bifurcated, having a flexibly hinged upwardly angled flange portion that is deformed downward upon placement of the glass pane to insure correct Z-axis (vertical) positioning of the glass pane forming the panel body and to prevent adhesive from flowing between the panel body and the seal member.
