  • Publication number: 20130099083
Abstract: A ceiling fixture support arm includes a rotational mechanism for interfacing the arm with ceiling support system structure. An extended member of the support arm and a member perpendicular thereto may include a rotational mechanism integral thereto as a hinged portion, or tab, thereof. One or more channels of the ceiling support structure may contain a plurality of flexible sections spaced at intervals along the length of two upper flanges that are separated by a channel width. Each section comprises a cantilevered tab formed in the flange material.

  • Publication number: 20130037502
Abstract: A ceiling support system includes a bracket mechanism that can be attached to ceiling joists. An upwardly extending flange arrangement provides support for a ceiling fixture while allowing adjustment of its position before being secured to the support system. The flange arrangement may be flexible and secured to the ceiling structure via resilient hangers.

  • Publication number: 20130036703
Abstract: A self-supporting apparatus can be placed in an opening in an existing wall substrate. A frame assembly is configured with a perimeter that can be adjusted to correspond to the opening of the wall substrate. Opposing frame portions are movable in opposite directions with respect to each other to be expandable for contact with the opening. Each frame portion comprises a first side having a detent on one surface and a second side with at least one groove on a surface thereof. The surfaces of the opposing frame portions face each other. The detents and grooves are dimensioned to provide engagement, respectively, between grooves and dents of facing frame portion surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20120279777
Abstract: An opening in a vapor barrier membrane interior to a ceiling can be sealed by a flexible enclosure. A planar member of the enclosure can be bonded to the inner side of the membrane. The enclosure is formed with a cavity that can encompass a ceiling mounted electrical device. A fastener is joined to the planar member permits bonding thereof with an interior surface of the membrane by manual application of a compressive force. The fastener may comprise a removable release liner covering an adhesive.

  • Publication number: 20120279746
Abstract: An opening in a vapor barrier membrane interior to a wall of a building structure can be sealed by an enclosure having a planar member that is bonded to the inner side of the membrane. The enclosure forms an integrally walled cavity suitable for enclosing one or more electrical devices. An aperture is sized to surround the membrane opening and seal the enclosure to the membrane. The enclosure is flexible to permit manual insertion through the membrane opening.

  • Publication number: 20120279148
Abstract: A self-supporting apparatus can be placed in a pre-set opening in an existing wall substrate. A frame assembly is configured with a perimeter that corresponds to the thickness of the wall substrate. The edge of the frame thus can be in fitting contact with the substrate opening. Flanges on opposite sides of the frame extend in the planar direction of the wall substrate to be in contact with the inner and outer surfaces of the substrate to maintain the frame in position in the wall and to strengthen the structure. The frame can include appropriate mounting portions for mounting electrical boxes or low voltage devices within the wall.

  • Patent number: 4188502
Abstract: The invention concerns a spacer-damper of the type for separating bundled subconductors of a power transmission line and for damping vibrations generated in those subconductors. The spacer-damper comprises a metallic frame around which a plurality of arms are mounted, each arm having one extremity designed so as to receive one of the subconductors and another extermity connected to the frame by means of a joint. Each joint includes a ring fitting in a cheek, four shoulders radially and symmetrically mounted on the inner wall of the ring, four pairs of elastomers inside each ring and making a right angle with respect to one anther, the elastomer of each pair being spaced from one another by one of the shoulders, and a central pivot inserted between the pairs of elastomers and inside the ring. The ring and the cheek constituting each joint are maintained together by means of tenon-mortise joints and a set of bolts and nuts.
