  • Patent number: 4913338
Abstract: A process for producing a heating plate involves fastening a tubular heating element (1) to a plate (2) made of metal or metal alloy. A plate (2) made of rolled metal or metal alloy is used, and cold-stamped in this plate is a shoulder (3), the contour of which corresponds substantially to the contour of the tubular heating element (1). The tubular heating element (1) is placed against the shoulder (3) and fastened to the plate by soldering. The thickness of the central part of the plate (2) is sufficient to withstand the thermal stresses which it must undergo. The process is especially useful for producing a heating sole of a steam-operated smoothing iron.

  • Patent number: 4912300
Abstract: The control device (25) comprises a thermostat (15) interconnected between a supply source (S) and a heating resistor (4) which comprises two heating elements (41, 42), one of which (42) is supplied only during one of the heating regimes. A temperature limiter (18) is interconnected between the source (S) and the heating element (42). This temperature limiter is sensitive to the heat produced by a resistor (17) having a high resistance value so as to cut-off the supply of said heating element (42) at the time of initial opening of the switch (15a) of the thermostat (15). The device (25) is particularly applicable to electric convectors having a natural convection regime and a blowing regime.

  • Patent number: 4888469
Abstract: A convector is provided having an enclosure (1) forming a chimney which has a bottom air admission opening (2) and a top air delivery opening (3), a heating resistor (4) being placed within the enclosure (1) downstream of the air admission opening (2). The enclosure (1) also contains an impeller (5) for extracting a portion of the hot air formed by natural convection and for blowing said air through an additional hot-air delivery opening (7). An opening is also formed between the convection chimney and the compartment (8) containing the impeller (5).

  • Patent number: 4860434
Abstract: The flat electrical resistance heating element is intended principally for a household article having a heating surface. The heating element comprises a heating resistance cut out from a metal sheet (1) which is coated with a substrate (2) of electrically insulating material resistant to the heating temperature and adherent to the metal sheet (1) and to the material of which the support (5) of the heating surface of the article is made.Use principally in base-heated kitchen utensils and irons.

  • Patent number: 4837952
Abstract: Steam generated within a vaporization chamber (4) by water droplets (16) as they fall onto a base (1) in which is embedded a heating resistor (17) is directed onto fabrics to be ironed through sole-plate orifices (26). When the base temperature is high, a closure member (32) attached to a bimetallic strip (33) is opened, steam flows through an intercalary space (23) between the base and the sole-plate, then escapes through a peripheral gap (25), thus completing heat transfers from base to sole-plate by convection and conduction. In the case of low temperatures, the closure member is placed in the closed position, air is admitted into the intercalary space (23) and forms a shield between sole-plate and base. The base temperature is than sufficient for generation of steam while the sole-plate is at a relatively low temperature which permits ironing of delicate fabrics.

  • Patent number: 4815209
Abstract: Arcuate shaver knives (1) maintained in parallel spaced relation and in alignment along a support (20) have inwardly-opening notches (5, 6) located opposite to two parallel longitudinal grooves (21, 22) formed in the support. The notches (5, 6) are locked on two locking-pins (30) which engage within the space formed between the grooves (21, 22) and the notches (5, 6) of the shaver knives.

  • Patent number: 4700050
Abstract: The boiler comprises a vessel (1) and a heating element (2) associated with this vessel (1). The vessel (1) comprises at least two compartments which have mutually facing wall members (3, 4) having a profile complementary to the heating element (2) and deformably connected together by a wall part (5). The heating element (2) is disposed between the wall members (3, 4) and a retainer holds the wall members (3, 4) against the heating element (2). A bridge is formed by a wall part (5) which deformably connects the wall members. The retainer includes a top part (9) of the vessel and a split ring (10).
