    Abstract: A blade for creping has been described. The blade according to the invention has a ceramic top layer covering the working edge of the blade, as well as the surface upon which the web impacts during creping. The ceramic top layer is a ceramic composition having a content of chromia. Preferably, the ceramic composition of the top layer comprises chromia-titania, with a titania content of up to 25% by weight, and preferably between 10% and 15% titania.
