  • Patent number: 7245814
Abstract: A line attenuation device for monomode fibers having at least one attenuating element with at least one graded-index multimode fiber section placed between two monomode fibers and coupled to at least one coreless silica fiber section.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 7, 2000
Date of Patent: July 17, 2007
    Assignee: France Telecom
Inventors: Philippe Chanclou, Monique Thual, Jean Lostec
  • Patent number: 6768837
Abstract: A method for the collective production of microlenses at the end of a set of aligned optical fibers. The method consists in heating the end of all the fibers by means of an electric arc in order to form the microlenses, the plane in which the ends of the fibers are situated being distant from the line of the hottest points in the electric arc in order to round their end homogeneously. Useful for making optical and optoelectric modules.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 5, 2002
Date of Patent: July 27, 2004
    Assignee: France Telecom SA
Inventors: Monique Thual, Philippe Chanclou, Jean Lostec
  • Patent number: 6014483
Abstract: A device for collective optical coupling between a single-mode fiber bundle and an electronic module in the optical telecommunications field which includes joining the single-mode fiber bundle to a graded-index fiber bundle and fracturing the fibers of the graded-index fiber bundle so as to produce graded-index fiber sections in order to form a lens at each end of the single-mode fibers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 13, 1997
Date of Patent: January 11, 2000
    Assignee: France Telecom
Inventors: Monique Thual, Jean Lostec, Patrick Auvray, Benedicte Clavel
