  • Publication number: 20070113505
Abstract: The invention concerns a wall form intersection assembly for receiving a flowable material. The assembly includes a pair of opposed spaced-apart foam panels having a top surface and a bottom surface, each panel including a first section having first and second opposed ends, the first sections being parallel to each other. Each panel of the pair also includes a second linear section pointing outwardly from said first end of the first linear section and forming an angle therewith. The assembly also includes at least one end foam panel, each including a section facing said second linear sections and being tied in spaced relation therewith. The panels define therebetween a cavity for receiving the flowable material and forming an intersection in a wall. The cavity may be T-shaped or cross-shaped, depending on the at least one end foam panel arrangement.

  • Patent number: 6792729
Abstract: Improvements in a stackable construction panel system are disclosed. The system includes stackable wall forms for receiving a flowable material, each form having a pair of foam panels tied together in a spaced and parallel relationship by connectors. In a first improvement, the connectors have head pieces with transversal terminal surfaces facilitating the stacking and handling of the wall forms on construction sites. In a second improvement, an end panel assembly is provided for mounting an end panel used as a wall stud for the construction of a window or door frame. The end panel assembly has first and second engaging members, each removably engageable with side end portions of the pair of foam panels. The end panel itself is mountable therebetween. In accordance with a third improvement, a corner connector is provided for reinforcing corner wall forms.

  • Patent number: 6668503
Abstract: A connector for tying together opposed foam panels in spaced and parallel relationship to make a form for receiving flowable material is disclosed. The connector comprises a pair of anchor members, one being devised to be embedded in one of the foam panels and the other being devised to be embedded in the other one of the foam panels. Each of these anchor members has a projecting end devised to come out of the foam panel once the anchor member is embedded therein. The connector further comprises a web member extending between the foam panels. The web member has opposite longitudinal side ends, each of the side ends being hingedly connectable to the projecting end of either one of the anchor members. Thanks to such a connector, the tied foam panels of the form wall assembly are movable between an extended position where the foam panels are spaced-apart to make the form and a collapsed position where the foam panels are brought close to each other for transportation purposes.

  • Patent number: 6668502
Abstract: A ledger mould assembly is suitable for use with a wall form assembly of the type comprising a pair of spaced-apart parallel foam panels defining therebetween a cavity for the setting of a flowable material for building an insulated wall. The ledger mould is used to receive a hardening flowable material and integrally forming a ledger to the wall. The ledger mould assembly comprises an elongated mould made of foam having a planar front face spanning from top to bottom, a tapered bottom edge and at least one flared recess in the front face, opening outwardly and upwardly from bottom to top. Mounting means are provided for horizontally mounting the mould against either one of the foam panels with the bottom down and the planar front face of the ledger mould in contact with the planar outside face of the foam panel. This set-up allows flowable hardening material to be poured from the top of the mould into the flared recesses to form a ledger once it has hardened.

  • Patent number: 6401419
Abstract: A stackable insulating foam panel which has a top side and a bottom side. Each of the panels has a median row of alternating projections and recesses with a similar complementary shape. The median row is disposed between two coplanar edge surfaces. Each projection of the top side is opposed to a recess of the bottom side whereby the top side and/or the bottom side of the panel can be interconnected with either the top side or the bottom side of a like panel. The present invention also concerns a wall form assembly which comprises opposed foam panels disposed in parallel relationship to make a wall form for receiving a flowable material such as concrete and a plurality of connectors for tying the opposed foam panels together.

  • Publication number: 20020056656
Abstract: The present invention proposes an extensible packing protector for protecting an edge portion of a plate-like object. The packing protector comprises a first and a second complementary half members each comprising a plate for covering a respective main face of the edge portion. Each half member also comprises a row of alternating recesses and projections extending at right angle with the plate, the row of projections and recesses of the first member having a complementary configuration to the row of projections and recesses of the second member for slidably moving and fitting together the first and second half members with respect to one another and thereby obtaining an extensible side wall of the packing protector for covering the side wall of the edge portion.

  • Patent number: 6082543
Abstract: The packing protector is formed from an elongated strip of flexible cushioning material having an L-shaped cross section defining a vertical wall and a vertical wall. Transversal folding lines are provided in the strip to fold it in the shape of the packing protector. The folding line is formed by a groove spanning transversally on an inner side surface of the vertical wall. The groove is associated with a V-shaped folding cutout in the horizontal wall shaped to form two matching surfaces which are brought adjacent to each other when the strip is folded, thereby forming a unified wall. One of the two matching surfaces includes a male coupling interlockable with a female coupling in the other matching surface to keep the strip once folded in the form of the packing protector. A packing protector according to the present invention has the advantage of being easy and simple to ship to the user or purchaser in great amounts, as the unfolded strips can be easily piled up for the delivery.

  • Patent number: 5893248
Abstract: The insulating panel for a building structure has a rigid insulating body and two opposed outer surfaces. It is characterized in that it comprises a plurality of framing members made of a high strength material embedded in the body, each framing member being provided with anchor means for securely holding it in the body and being adapted for receiving and holding at least one fastener and thereby securing the panel to the building structure. An insulating panel according to the present invention, on one hand allows a very large range of use for such a panel, and on the other hand, allows a very rapid installation at a low cost. Such an insulating panel may be used for insulating a wall as well as a ceiling or a roof or a floor.
