  • Patent number: 5288206
Abstract: A turbjet engine includes various elements for adjustment of play of the stator by having the stator heated or cooled by a gas. The outer housing to which the ferrule bearing the fixed vane stages is secured may be formed of two skins between which the gas is injected. The ferrule may be composed of sectors extending over one circumference fraction and fixed via their center and simply guided at their extremity; finally, it is possible to provide sealing devices between the outer housing and the support bearing surfaces of the ribs of the ferrule elements. The volume between the ferrule and the housing is then sectioned and is able to receive separate gas feedings for play adjustment.

  • Patent number: 5236304
Abstract: A stemmed blade for flow-straightener blading of a gas turbine engine comprises at least one shank at the head of the blade forming a stem for use in fixing the blade. The shank has a notched portion situated adjacent the head of the blade and an end portion separated from the notched portion by a zone of lower tensile strength. The fixing of the blade to the engine casing is carried out by fitting the blade in position with the shank projecting radially outwards through a hole in the casing and then crimping a bush on to the notched portion of the shank using a suitable crimping tool which exerts a compressive force on the bush while exerting a traction on the end of the shank until the zone of lower tensile strength breaks.

  • Patent number: 5224820
Abstract: In a turbomachine in which the stator includes at least one stage of pivole blades and a ring which is movable axially to operate the levers which rotate the blades, the ring is moved by varying the pressure of gas which is contained in sealed chambers and which exerts a force between the movable ring and another fixed ring. This arrangement enables a better distribution of the forces to be achieved than purely mechanical movement control systems.

  • Patent number: 4561867
Abstract: The gas-liquid separation device consists of two concentric pipes rotationally driven about their common longitudinal axis and between them defining first and second longitudinally extending channels. The mixture is passed into the first channels and the second channels collect and evacuate the liquid particles which have been separated from the gas in the first channel. The device may be mounted within a shaft of a turboengine and be used to de-oil the ventilating air of turboengine bearing cases. It may be combined with a mounting sleeve which also serves to distribute the lubricating oil of the bearings within the case.

  • Patent number: 4378197
Abstract: A bearing for turbojet engines, placed between a high pressure journal and a low pressure journal is in the form of a roller bearing with rollers, and an inner bushing and an outer bushing, all contained in a box mounted on the low pressure journal. A nut maintains the bushing on the high pressure journal and has an annular recess arranged to receive oil through an inlet dividing it by means of vanes, through axial holes on the bushing, toward the roller bearing for its lubrication and cooling, and through radial holes, by means of the centrifugal effect, to an annular collector formed in the box. The collector has a plurality of stabilizing vanes and its radial height determines the feed pressure, by means of calibrated holes in the box, of a film of oil in an axial space constituted between the bushing and the box, in order to assure therein the damping of vibrations.
