  • Patent number: 5709920
Abstract: In this cover structure, the reinforcing is formed by strips (1) or wires which are spaced from one another, of a material which is capable of providing resistance to the passage of a sharp object, each strip or wire having a meandering configuration formed by curved patterns and/or by patterns comprising regularly repeated rectilinear segments (2, 3), similar patterns of the various strips or wires being disposed in a manner such that they are juxtaposed or fit into one another in corresponding positions, such that each strip or wire is spaced from the adjacent strips or wires with a spacing such that a cutting object driven along a rectilinear path will, of necessity, encounter a strip or a wire in every direction on its path. See FIG. 1A.

  • Patent number: 5461735
Abstract: A bed or cot structure which can be retracted into a ceiling. The bed structure is designed to fit within a recess, formed in a ceiling, which serves as a receptacle for the structure. An elongate pivoting support is rotationally coupled at one end within the recess such that it may be rotated downwardly from the recess, from a retracted to an operational position. The bed or cot is rotationally coupled to the other end of the pivoting support such that it may be rotated into a horizontal and operational orientation upon rotation of the pivoting support into its operational position. The structure is further designed to include both a controlling device which provides for easier manual control of the deployment and retraction of the bed between the recess and its operational position, and a locking device for locking the bed into a desired position.

  • Patent number: 5116556
Abstract: A process for producing a seat element from a portion of an outfit (1) including a relatively compact plastic covering layer, a network formed by a continuous sheet of metal springs (5), the intermingled turns of which, on one side, come substantially flush against the lower face of the covering (1), and an intermediate connecting layer (3) made of a plastic foam which partially encases the turns of the sheet of springs (5).According to the invention, the peripheral edge (7) of the said outfit portion is gripped in an injection mold (11), this mold having a cavity (9) into which the said edge (7) penetrates, a thermoplastic to which an expanding agent has been added is injected into the said cavity at low pressure, and this thermoplastic is allowed to harden there.

  • Patent number: 5082320
Abstract: The invention divulges a seat support of the cantilever type for public transport vehicles. This seat support has, in section through a vertical plane, a general upturned L shape with a horizontal part (16) which serves for fixing at least one seat and a vertical part or foot (18) which rests on the floor (12) of the vehicle or on an element fixed to the sidewall (14) thereof, one of said parts of the seat support being provided with a projection or spur (20) which engages in a housing (24) of corresponding shape formed in the sidewall (14).

  • Patent number: 4423102
Abstract: A resilient furniture covering for seats or similar equipment is disclosed which comprises an outer covering layer consisting of a dense, relatively thick material presenting little elasticity but good flexibility, a resilient network formed by a continuous layer of spiral metallic springs reinforcing the outer cover and an intermediate connecting layer bonding the outer cover and the network and consisting of a foamed plastic material adhering on one side to the outer layer and at least partially enveloping the spring spirals of the network. Optionally there may additionally be provided an intercalating layer comprised of a fiberglass fabric situated between the covering layer and connecting layer.
