  • Patent number: 8121131
Abstract: A method of transmitting a tributary in synchronous mode at the level of a link of a data network is disclosed. The tributary comprising at least one frame including at least one payload envelope area and one transport overhead area. The envelope area includes at least one payload and load supervision data related thereto. The transport overhead area includes transport supervision data related and an area of fixed patterns. The method comprises modifying a frame to create a modified frame and transmitting the modified frame. Modifying the frame comprises: part of the fixed patterns are deleted from the fixed pattern area; the positions of the part of the fixed patterns deleted are recorded; replacement data are inserted at the level of the positions. The method is characterized in that the replacement data comprise the transport supervision data of the frame of the tributary.

  • Patent number: 6148423
Abstract: A system for transmitting digital information, especially on an optical link, comprises a send end unit and a receive end unit. It includes a device for evaluating the bit error rate at the receiving end and a device for controlling one or more characteristic parameters of the send end unit and/or the receive end unit according to the evaluated bit error rate and in such a way as continuously to optimize the parameter(s) in the light of the actual performance of the transmission system.

  • Patent number: 5408348
Abstract: A system for re-establishing the transmission quality of a digital information transmission link including amplifier equipments in the event of failure of one or more amplifier equipments includes, associated with at least one of the amplifier equipments, a gain control device for varying the gain of the amplifier equipment in order to compensate for deterioration of the receive signal-to-noise ratio following failure of at least one other amplifier equipment. An error corrector coder at the send end of the link operates on the digital information to be transmitted and an error corrector decoder at the receive end of the link operates on the received digital information. The error corrector code used by the error corrector coder and decoder reduces or eliminate residual errors at the receiving end associated with residual deterioration of the receive signal-to-noise ratio not compensated by varying the gain.
