Patent number: 7960681Abstract: A method and system for scanning a multiple light beam system, such as a safety light curtain, uses a plurality of transmission signals including two or more synchronization signals for synchronizing a beam receiver module with a beam transmission module. The system has transmitter circuitry which generates the transmission signals for driving light sources of the transmission module and receiver circuitry which receives corresponding transmitted signals. The receiver circuitry generates a scanning initialization signal using an uninterrupted synchronization signal among the reception signals for synchronizing the receiver module with the transmission module and scans the receiver module in response to generation of the scanning initialization signal.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2007Date of Patent: June 14, 2011Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: Vito Carnicelli, Jean Christophe Lenoir, Jean-Luc Simon

Patent number: 5983927Abstract: The invention proposes an inlet valve assembly integrated in apparatus for dispensing a fluid contained in a tank, the valve assembly serving to isolate said tank at least during a dispensing stage during which said fluid is dispensed, said valve assembly comprising a valve member (2) having a contact zone coming into sealed contact with a substantially frustoconical valve seat (16) at least during said dispensing stage, the contact zone of the valve member (2) being part of a substantially frustoconical surface (210), said inlet valve assembly being characterized in that the solid angle of the surface (210) is greater than that defined by the valve seat (16) so that the contact zone is at least initially defined by a circle when the valve member is at rest, and in that the frustoconical surface (210) is formed by a substantially flexible wall, so that the initially circular contact zone extends to form a truncated cone by resilient deformation during the dispensing stage.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1998Date of Patent: November 16, 1999Assignee: Valois S.A.Inventors: Jean-Luc Simon, Claude Jouillat

Patent number: 5430421Abstract: A reed contactor includes a base plane comprising two distinct conducting zones. Two shafts of the contactor have the form of blades, each of which engages a base plane at the level of one of the conducting zones. One of the beams at least is supported on the base plane by means of a foot on which it is mounted in an overhanging manner. The contactor is formed by process comprising the steps of forming successively on a substrate an alternance of levels of photoresist and of metallization. At each step, the level of upper photoresist is configured to create in its thickness free growth spaces in which metal pins are formed by galvanic growth. The levels of photoresist situated under the last level of metallization play the role of sacrificial layers and allow the formation of suspended metallic structures.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 1993Date of Patent: July 4, 1995Assignee: Asulab S.A.Inventors: Etienne Bornand, Jean-Luc Simon

Patent number: 4255848Abstract: A set of passive display cells are manufactured by providing two superimposed glass plates on which there has been deposited groups of conductive layers in a matrix configuration. A peripheral closed belt of thermoplastic material is provided between the two plates and a set of open belts of thermoplastic material having openings is provided surrounding the groups of conductive layers. The closed belt is sealed so as to realize a closed space between the two plates. In a vessel where there is a higher pressure, the softening of the closed and open belts is produced. The two plates are then brought closer to each other under the effect of the overpressure up to a distance determined by spacing elements contained in the material of the open belts which material then is hardened. A side of the outer belt is eliminated and the cells are filled with a liquid crystal under vacuum. The cells then are separated from each other still under vacuum, and the openings of the open belts are closed.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 1979Date of Patent: March 17, 1981Assignee: Ebauches Electroniques S.A.Inventors: William G. Freer, Jean-Luc Simon
