  • Patent number: 4479908
Abstract: A fluid of lower density is dispersed in a jet of a fluid of higher density, by imposing on the jet of higher density a curved trajectory. Where the pressure is the highest, that is, where the wall that establishes the curved trajectory has its largest radius of curvature, the fluid of lower density is introduced, preferably under pressure. The apparatus can be embodied as a tuyere which is a figure of rotation, when only a relatively small proportion of lower density fluid is to be introduced. When the proportion of lower density fluid is greater, however, then the device can be embodied as a duct of quadrangular section wrapped in a helix with narrow slots for the introduction of the fluid of lower density formed in its outer wall.

  • Patent number: 4432342
Abstract: A solar collector comprises an upper transparent flexible cover and a lower eflectively metallized sheet, the upper cover and the lower sheet both being flexible and the space between them being inflated under gas pressure. The joint between the upper and lower members is closed by longitudinal stringers that are carried by upright side walls that protect the lower sheet against deformation by the force of the wind. Tubes carrying the liquid to be heated are disposed within the inflated enclosure, the sun's rays being concentrated on them by the reflective coating on the lower sheet; and these tubes are appropriately moved so as to follow the focal point of the lower reflector as the reflector and the sun move relative to each other during the day.

  • Patent number: 4414002
Abstract: A method for the gasification of large-sized vegetable materials using a ed bed gasogene. This gasification method includes the steps of moving the materials in a fixed treatment chamber extending substantially horizontally and having opposite rear and forward ends, the materials being moved from the rear end towards the forward end through substantially the whole transverse section of the chamber and being successfully subjected to drying, pyrolysis and gasification in successive areas of the chamber. Hot gases are generated by combustion in a zone free of materials to be treated and located in the chamber in front of the natural talus created by the front of the whole bulk of materials which occupy substantially the whole transverse section of the chamber. Gases are extracted from the chamber and recycled into the zone in front of the natural talus, whereby tar produced from the pyrolysis and carried away by the extracted gases is eliminated by heating the recycled gases in the zone.
