  • Publication number: 20030195766
Abstract: Money is raised for a single and specific charitable cause or non-profit organization by selling decorative ornaments which comprise a translucent container—usually, a clear spherical object such as a Christmas tree ornament—and placing inside it a specific logo, indicium, or inspirational or motivational slogan, which is identified with that single and specific charitable cause or non-profit organization. The net proceeds obtained from selling the decorative ornaments having in their interior a specific logo, indicium, or inspirational or motivational slogan, for the specific charitable cause or non-profit organization are then turned over to that charitable cause or non-profit organization. Thus, a long lasting and relatively valuable ornament is exchanged for a gift of money to a specific charitable cause or non-profit organization, and the logo, indicium, or inspirational or motivational slogan is prominently displayed within the decorative ornament, but does not comprise the ornament itself.
