  • Publication number: 20050189405
Abstract: A carton with an improved dispenser at an end of the carton which preserves the integrity of the carton when it is opened while permitting the bottom end flaps attached to the bottom panel to remain in place and also a portion of each side end flap that overlaps the bottom end flaps. This dispenser has a bottom tear line in the end of the carton which only extends partially across the end of the carton. The tear line extends upwardly from each side of the bottom tear line to form end retainers to prevent cans in the second row of the carton from rolling out. By placing the bottom tear line no higher from the bottom of the carton than necessary to retain a can in the bottom row and to make the end retainers on each side of the carton no larger than necessary to restrain a can in the second row from rolling out, easy access to the cans on the bottom row of containers is provided after the cans in the second and third rows of the carton have been removed.

  • Publication number: 20040226988
Abstract: A carton is provided for containing brick-shaped containers which has a dispenser in the top permitting the removal of any of the containers while maintaining the structural integrity of the carton through the provision of either a top gusset or middle gusset spanning each end of the carton. The top of the carton serves as a dispenser when the dispenser flap is removed.

  • Publication number: 20040188301
Abstract: A wrap-around can wrap which is secured together by primary and secondary locks with a single aperture securing both a primary and secondary lock, with each secondary lock being attached to a bottom flap of the carrier through a locking base. The locking base on each end of the carrier having a shoulder to secure the secondary lock, with the locking base for each secondary lock being reduced in length due to the presence of the locking shoulders. This carrier has open ends with the width of the carrier being such that cylindrical containers in the carrier project beyond the ends of the side panels of the carrier and are secured in place by a retaining flap that extends around a portion of the container that extends beyond the end of the side panel of the carrier from the top of the container to the adjacent side panel of the carrier, thereby permitting the width of the carrier to be significantly less than the width of a conventional open ended carrier.

  • Publication number: 20040178084
Abstract: A wrap-around carton for carrying a plurality of containers, with each container having an indentation in the bottom with the carton having open ends with means to secure the tops of the containers from falling out of the open ends and a locking tab struck from the bottom panel and fitting into the indentation in the bottom of the container to prevent the bottom of the container from falling out of the carton. The locking tab is held securely in the bottom of the container by a holding tab between the locking tab and the bottom panel of the carton.

  • Patent number: 6736260
Abstract: The neck-through the top carton blank for forming a carton with a four-ply handle and two-ply top panels with apertures through which the necks of bottles can be extended. The apertures in the top panel have an arcuate extended opening projecting towards the handle panel to minimize damage to the labels of the necks of bottles extending through the apertures. The fold lines for gluing this blank into a car-on are parallel to each other.

  • Patent number: 6695137
Abstract: A wrap-around neck through the top carrier with a handle that can retracted into the interior of the carrier for stacking one carrier on top of another and which can be easily extended for carrying. The retractabilty and extension of the handle is facilitated by having a flexing panel attached to the handle panel by a fold line which in turn is attached to the top panel by fold line with a fold line between the handle panel and the flexing panel being approximately midway between the apertures in the top panel and the hand aperture in the handle panel. There also a fold line adjacent the apertures for the bottles.

  • Patent number: 6168013
Abstract: A carrier blank (40) for making a basket-style carrier (10) for containing and carrying a plurality of articles, with the carrier blank (40) including an elongate central section (41) and first and second exterior sections (42, 43) formed alongside the elongate central section. The elongate central section has formed therein side panels (21, 22) and end panels (18, 19). The first exterior section has formed therein a plurality of handle panels (26) and partitions (38, 39). The second exterior section has formed therein first and second bottom panels (31, 32). The bottom panels (31, 32) are sized, shaped, and spaced to be nestably received in spaces adjacent bottom panels of an adjacent carrier blank. With the exception of the bottom panels (which can be nestably received with adjacent bottom panels of an adjacent carrier blank), the remainder of the carrier blank comprises a substantially rectangular shape to minimize waste.

  • Patent number: 5941389
Abstract: A wrap-around carrier and carrier blank for forming the carrier for containing a plurality of articles, with the carrier including a top panel, opposite side panels foldably connected to the top panel, and a bottom positioned opposite the top panel. Bevel panels are foldably connected to the bottom panel and to the side panels and each includes apertures located near the lower side portions of the articles contained in the carrier. An outboard reinforcing flap is positioned adjacent each one of the outboard ones of the apertures and the reinforcing flaps are foldably connected to the bevel panels. An outboard edge of each of each of the outboard reinforcing flaps is substantially aligned with an end of the carrier to reinforce the carrier to prevent outboard ones of articles contained in the carrier from being dislodged.

  • Patent number: 5820185
Abstract: A paperboard carrier device for retaining a plurality of containers is disclosed. The carrier device is made from a paperboard blank (10) and has a base (16) with apertures defined therein for receiving the necks of the respective containers, two side walls (19,20) hingedly connected to opposed side edges of the base, the side walls being angled with respect to the base and extending toward one another, and two handle panels (23,24) hingedly connected to each one of the respective side walls. A plurality of reinforcing flaps (34) are defined in the side walls and the handle panels, the reinforcing flaps being hingedly attached to each one of the side walls along an edge (32), respectively. The reinforcing flaps are folded against the side walls in use, and have a length greater than half of the width of the base.
