  • Patent number: 6947765
Abstract: A data transmission module for transmitting data between a radio communication network that transmits data at a specified rate and data processing means includes network interface radio means for interfacing the data processing means with the radio communication network, data adapter means interposed between the network interface radio means and the data processing means through which data flows under the control of a sequencer means, wherein the sequencer means includes means for frequency-locking the sequencer means to the rate of the network. The data transmission process of the module includes the steps of locking the sequencer means to the rate of the network and synchronizing the flow of the data through the adapter means with the network.

  • Patent number: 6748245
Abstract: The process for controlling the power supply (16) of a telephone (1) of a cellular radiotelephone network (2), of which the transmission power (13) is controlled (14) by the network (2) according to a power class indicated by the telephone (1), consists of determining the charge level of the power supply (16), deducing the maximum transmission power able to be reached, according to the charge level, comparing the maximum transmission power and the transmission power controlled (14) by the network (2), and downgrading the mobile telephone (1) if the former is lower than the latter (14).

  • Patent number: 6546240
Abstract: A mobile radio-telephone terminal includes a radio means activated by a chip card. The chip card includes a memory containing a subscriber identification word (PIN, IMSI) and is connected to an input of a comparator. The terminal comprises means for receiving the card connected to the radio means and the memory for inputting a particular identification word (PIN, PINUT), associated with the card and is connected to the other input of the comparator. The terminal comprises means for transcoding the input word (PINUT), to match it with the card, to control the activation of the radio means from the subscriber identification word.

  • Patent number: 6490463
Abstract: In a mobile telephone, it is planned to divide the functions usable by this mobile telephone into basic functions and comfort functions. It is planned that access to the comfort functions should be possible only if, in a test of comparison, an operator code stored in a memory of the mobile telephone corresponds to an operator code stored in a security circuit delivered by this operator when a purchaser purchases the mobile telephone, at the same time as he takes out a subscription with this operator. It is shown that, by acting in this way, it is possible to modulate the price of the subscription which may be attractive as well as the availability of the comfort functions of the mobile telephone. This can be done in such a way that economic profitability is ensured either by encouraging the user to keep his subscription with this operator or pay a fee to the operator a fee corresponding to an additional amount that absorbs the cost of the mobile telephone.
