  • Patent number: 6440009
Abstract: A golf club head having a body that includes a striking wall, an upper wall, and an open cavity. A housing is positioned within the cavity and it is removably attached in such position to the body. The housing has an asymmetrical configuration and is located in the open cavity of the body in a predetermined selected position and is removably connected to the body in the predetermined position. At least one balancing weight is located with respect to the housing in a predetermined selected position, the weight being non-removably connected to the housing by adhesive or by being molded in place, for example. A plurality of identically shaped housings, with differently positioned weights, can be provided to enable one to select a desired one of the housings to be fitted to the body of the club head to appropriately modify the behavior of the thusly assembled club.

  • Patent number: 5766092
Abstract: An iron-type golf club head comprising a hollow metal body (1) incorporating an internal cavity (2) delimited by a series of walls (10, 11, 12, 13) including an impact wall (10) connected peripherally at all points to other walls (11, 12, 13). The inner surface (100) of the impact wall (10) is coated with a thin layer (4) of a viscoelastic resin which has damping properties, and which fills only a portion of the internal cavity (2). The resin layer assures reduced interference vibrations peculiar to "hollow" irons, i.e., those incorporating an internal cavity for improved weight distribution.

  • Patent number: 5547188
Abstract: A series of golf clubs, in which each head includes at least one outer median rib in relief with respect to a sole and substantially perpendicular to an attack edge, wherein the width of the rib decreases when the loft angle increases in this series.

  • Patent number: 5484155
Abstract: The invention relates to a metal head for a golf club of the "wood" type, which is provided with a body, and optionally a hosel, the body including one part that is sandblasted or covered with paint, and one part that is polished. The polished part corresponds at least to the surface subjected principally to friction with the ground, and the other part corresponds at least to the surface of the body visible to the golfer when he or she addresses the ball, except for a lower polished zone of the front face, which extends from the striking edge and whose boundary with the upper sandblasted or paint-covered zone forms a substantially horizontal line of demarcation separating the face, when the head rests on the ground for the address of the ball.
