  • Patent number: 10703570
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for manufacturing an endless belt, of the flat type made of metal material, designed to be wound around at least one indexed pulley provided with teeth. The endless belt includes, for the one part, locations which are each designed to receive a product to be conveyed and, for the other part, indexing perforations. The manufacturing method includes the following successive steps: a) a step of supplying a flat band made of the metal material, b) a step of closing the band by welding of the transverse edges thereof via a weld seam, and c) a step of perforating the weld seam, at the at least one longitudinal indexing line, in order to form at least one additional indexing perforation that is also designed to engage with the teeth of the at least one indexed pulley.

  • Publication number: 20200189824
Abstract: Disclosed is a single-piece can body made of metal, for producing a two-piece can intended for receiving a food product sterilized by a heat treatment after closure of the can. This can body has the following two dimensional ratios: a) a first dimensional ratio R1, wherein R1=Dp/Db with R1 being less than or equal to 0.5, and b) a second dimensional ratio R2, wherein R2=Dp/Df with R2 being less than or equal to 0.55, wherein: Dp is the diameter of the edge of the central plate, Db is the diameter of the inner surface of the side wall of the can body, and Df is the diameter of the baseline of the peripheral groove.

  • Patent number: 6193818
Abstract: Process for forming an aluminum alloy strip, including the steps of a) obtaining an aluminum alloy consisting essentially of, by weight, 0.5 to 13% Si, 0 to 2% Mg, 0 to 2% Cu, 0 to 1% Mn, 0 to 2% Fe, other elements less than 0.5% each and less than 2% total, and remainder Al; and b) continuously casting the aluminum alloy between twin cooled rolls having a force applied thereto, to obtain a cast strip of thickness between 1.5 and 5 mm, and optionally cold rolling the cast strip. The force applied to the rolls is maintained below an amount represented by a straight line between a point A and a point B on a graph of specific applied force (y-axis) vs. cast width (x-axis), where point A is (1.5 mm, 750 tons/meter at cast width) and point B is (5 mm, 500 tons/meter of cast width).

  • Patent number: 6004089
Abstract: A process for forming an easy open lid comprising a central panel having a score strip with a score thereon, a crimping edge and a ring enabling the lid to be opened by perforation of the score. The score on the lid is formed from a metal lid outline supported by an anvil by displacing a punch of angle alpha thereover and causing an asymmetrical flow of metal between the punch and the anvil during the displacing. This reduces the risk of crack formation in the metal at the bottom portion of the score or beneath the score.

  • Patent number: 5616190
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing, by casting between rolls, an aluminum alloy sheet suitable for making up constituent elements of cans for food use, the aluminum alloy containing (by weight) between 1 and 4% of Mg and between 0 and 1.6% of Mn, the process being characterized in that said sheet is obtained by casting of said alloy in the liquid state between two rolls in the form of a strip having a thickness of at most 4 mm followed by at least one heat treatment at a temperature between 400.degree. and 580.degree. C. so that the sheet is at least partially recrystallized and cold-rolling to a final thickness of less than 0.3 mm.The sheet obtained has a yield stress, a formability index and a resistance of the coating to delamination which are improved and make it suitable for application to can manufacture and, in particular, to can lids.

  • Patent number: 5160388
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of targets to be used in the vacuum deposition of aluminium alloy by cathodic sputtering. The process consists of a heat treatment of the aluminium alloy disks making it possible to obtain a fine grain. It is characterized by the dissolving of the silicon, followed by controlled cooling bringing about the fine precipitation of the silicon and an optional silicon spheroidization treatment. After cooling, the disks are deformed with the press and undergo a final recrystallization treatment. The process is applied to the production of targets or cathodes for the coating of semiconductor silicon wafers by cathodic sputtering.
