  • Patent number: 4775402
Abstract: The invention concerns a glass molding process and system according to which glass sheet is heated in a horizontal position in a heating furnace, transferred vertically to an upper mold having a radius of curvature greater than the radius of curvature that it is desired to give the glass sheet and dropped on a bending frame where the glass sinks under the effect of inertia and gravity. Vertical transfer of the glass is obtained by a vacuum created on the periphery of the upper mold.

  • Patent number: 4626207
Abstract: A frame for holding a glass sheet in a substantially vertical position. The frame has two uprights joined by upper and lower crosspieces. A lower support means adapted to engage a bottom edge of a glass sheet is carried by the lower crosspiece. Upper support means freely movable in a vertical direction are adopted to engage the upper edge of the glass sheet and form part of the frame.

  • Patent number: 4605528
Abstract: This invention relates to a process and a device for production of plastic sheets of high optical quality, used particularly in laminated glasses.According to the invention, a liquid mass is applied to a plane mobile support consisting of a horizontally taut flexible strip, this flexible strip passing over two horizontal and longitudinal rectilinear supports, contact of each with the flexible strip being limited approximately to a generatrix, these two supports extending over the entire length useful for production and being placed along the side edges of the strip, this latter being stretched crosswise on these two rectilinear supports like a drumhead.
