  • Patent number: 7025389
Abstract: A method and device for facilitating fluid communication between a sealed container having an access port and at least one fluid passageway. The device includes a connector provided with a body that defines a fluid passageway between first and second ends of the body. The first end of the body is configured for receiving the fluid source, and the second end is configured for receiving an access port of the container. A locking member is associated with the body and prevents movement of the body relative to the access port when the locking member is in a locked position. The device can be used for the transfer of cytotoxic or other drugs (i.e., fluids) to the container and may remain attached to the access port and used to administer a drug from the container to a patient by means of an administration set with a male luer connector.
