  • Patent number: 5023751
Abstract: The invention concerns a method of mass producing a tape intended to provide electrical circuits, the tape constituting an intermediate step in the production of electronic modules. The method comprises providing a metal strip (1) having openings defining a series of similar networks of conductors, each conductors being connected to the strip (1) by a bridge, and providing insulating sheets (18) having holes (19, . . . 27) and sticking these sheets to the metal strip in such a manner that the holes face the conductors. The thus-assembled strip (1) and sheets (18) constitute the tape, while the conductors with a part of the sheets define the circuits of the modules.

  • Patent number: 4999742
Abstract: The invention concerns an electronic module for a small portable object such as a card or a key incorporating an integrated circuit, and a method of mass producing such modules. The electronic module according to the invention includes a substrate (24) of insulating material, an integrated circuit chip (8) having at least two connector lugs (10) and which is fixed at least indirectly to the substrate, a coil (12) also fixed on the substrate and serving to provide an inductive coupling between the module and an apparatus with which the portable object is designed to cooperate, and electrical connections (18,20) respectively between the chip's connector lugs and the terminals (17) of the coil. In this module, the coil is an annular coil which surrounds a space in which the chip and the electrical connections are fully housed in a hardened, electrically insulating adhesive material (28) filling the space.

  • Patent number: 4674175
Abstract: The invention relates to microcircuit cards, used for electronic transactions or other purposes, and concerns a process for mass producing electronic modules to be used in these cards and the modules obtained according to this process. According to the invention, there are fabricated, on the one hand, a metal grid with a plurality of openings into which there penetrate tongues attached to the frame of this grid and intended to form the modules' contact areas, and, on the other hand, pellets of plastics material which have a generally flat front face, a rear face in which there is a hollow and, between this hollow and the front face, windows so arranged that they can be positioned opposite the grid tongues.

  • Patent number: 4261050
Abstract: An electronic watch having a stepping motor and equipped with an alarm, in which the number of power transistors necessary for the control of the stepping motor and of the alarm transducer is reduced so as to permit the integration of all the electronics of the watch of a single chip and to reduce the number of terminals of the integrated circuit and the number of interconnections.A pair of the power transistors (5, 6) is common to the control of the motor coil (11) and of the alarm transducer coil (12) and the alarm control signal is inserted between the driving pulses.

  • Patent number: 4122664
Abstract: An electronic watch with a body surrounded by a metallic ring. The ring is elastically deformable in at least some locations. Electrical contact blocks are positioned opposite the deformable portions of the ring. Pushers are operable on the ring to deform the same into contact with the blades to control functions thereof.
