    Abstract: There are described new anthraquinone compounds, and mixtures thereof, of the formula ##STR1## in which X is a halogen atom which is in the 6- or 7-position of the anthraquinone molecule, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently of one another are each an alkyl group, R.sub.3 is hydrogen or an alkyl group, and the Z's independently of one another are each hydrogen, a fibre-reactive group bound by way of an amino group, or they are each a water-solubilising group, or the group --CH.sub.2 NH--CO--Y in which Y is an alkyl or alkenyl group which is unsubstituted or is mono- or disubstituted by halogen, or it is an unsubstituted or substituted phenyl group, with the proviso that if one Z is a fibre-reactive group bound by way of an amino group, the other Z is a water-solubilising group; processes for producing these compounds; and their use as dyes for dyeing or printing natural or synthetic textile materials dyeable with acid dyes or with fibre-reactive dyes, such as polyamide materials, wool and cellulose materials.

    Abstract: There are described new anthraquinone compounds which, in the form of the free acid, correspond to the formula I ##STR1## wherein the X's independently of one another are each a straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, Y is hydrogen or is the same as X, and wherein the phenyl rings a can also be substituted by one or more halogen atoms, the production and use thereof, and also dye solutions containing a solvent mixture consisting of one or more aprotic solvents, at least one glycol and/or glycol ether, and optionally water and further additives, which solutions contain in each case a mixture of two anthraquinone dyes which, in the form of the free acid, correspond to the formulae I and IV ##STR2## wherein the X's independently of one another are each a straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, Y is hydrogen or is the same as X, and wherein the phenyl rings a can also be substituted by one or more halogen atoms.

    Abstract: There is described a process for dyeing paper or, in particular, cellulose containing fibre material with an aqueous dye liquor, which dye liquor contains at least one cationic or basic dye which(a) has available at least one system of delocalized .pi.-electrons, which system consists of at least 9 conjugated double bonds lying in one plane, and(b) possesses a planar molecular structure, the said material being treated, before or during dyeing, with at least one cationic or basic levelling agent; there is no necessity to add salt additionally to the dye bath, and there are obtained by this process level dyeings which exhibit a high degree of exhaustion of the dye, and which are characterized by good fastness properties, especially by good fastness to wet processing.
