  • Patent number: 4995773
Abstract: A lightweight salt and sand spreader dump truck box having a first sub-frame with elongated longitudinal channel members formed from sheet metal and a conveyor frame on which a conveyor is mounted longitudinally of the dump box at the floor thereof near a side wall of the dump box, wherein the conveyor frame is integral with the sub-frame. A second sub-frame is pivoted about a longitudinal axis adjacent the conveyor frame on the opposite side from the first side frame member and includes a wall member which, when in a down position, is flush with a side frame member of the first sub-frame.

  • Patent number: 4273381
Abstract: A dump body for mounting on the frame of a vehicle is disclosed. The dump body comprises a floor, side walls and a front wall secured together to form an integral unit, a rear gate closing the back of the unit. The floor is composed of a central, elongated plate and a pair of elongated lateral plates, each of smaller thickness than the central plate, so that the latter will resist abrasion for a longer time, where abrasion is most likely to occur and yet reducing the weight of the dump body. The lateral plates extend underneath and overlap the central plate and are bent to form integral, longitudianally-extending hollow beams welded to the central plate for strengthening the unit.

  • Patent number: 4225281
Abstract: A container carrier truck adapted to load and unload a container thereon and to conventionally dump a load and characterized by hydraulic cylinders arranged relative one to the other and to a pivoted loading-unloading frame to each be positioned in its optimum action position when the demand thereon is optimum. This truck includes a guideway for longitudinal displacement of the pivoted frame, a carriage also longitudinally displaceable along the guideway, a pair of hydraulic cylinders on the effectively opposite sides respectively of the pivotal frame, an abutment, and a catch device to hold the pivotal frame and carriage in a predetermined loading-unloading position along the guideway, one hydraulic cylinder exclusively producing pivoting of the pivoted frame, and the other producing pivoting and longitudinal displacement of the frame.
