  • Patent number: 8659700
Abstract: Method and apparatus for converting a first video signal into a second video signal, including a succession of frames wherein each includes a plurality of points having a luminance. The points of the second video signal can be displayed on corresponding pixels of a display device. The method includes calculating the luminance of a point of a current frame of the second video signal by a weighted sum of a luminance of a corresponding point of a current frame of the first video signal and of a luminance of a corresponding point of a previously stored frame, and storing the luminance of the corresponding point of the current frame of the first video signal. The calculation is repeated for all the points of the current frame of the second video signal, and the storage is repeated for all the points of the current frame of the first video signal.
