  • Patent number: 5445400
Abstract: A cycle frame includes a top member having a front terminal portion and a rear assembly portion, a bottom member defining a rear fork and a sloping member that is upwardly inclined from the rear fork to a front terminal portion thereof, a tubular member constituting a front steering swivel socket, a pair of lugs for interconnecting the front terminal portions of the top and bottom members to the tubular member, a pair of stays interconnecting the rear assembly portion and the rear fork, and a spacer member extending between the rear assembly portion and the bottom member. The front terminal portions of the top and bottom members have constant, polygonal-shaped cross-sections. The length of the cycle frame can be readily set to a desired dimension by cutting the front terminal portions of the top and bottom member and the height of the cycle frame can be readily adjusted by cutting the tubular member, the pair of stays and the spacer member.

  • Patent number: 5269551
Abstract: A cycle frame includes an upper tube joined at one end to a lower tube by a frontal part and joined at an opposing end to stays by a continuously formed connecting part. A front fork pivot housing is attached to a reduced thickness, core portion of the frontal part and a seat post housing, having a forked base, is secured to the connecting part. The core portion and the front fork pivot housing have complementary mating surfaces to enhance the structural integrity of the assembly. In a similar fashion, the connecting part includes a cut-out portion for receiving the forked base. The frame arrangement finds particular application in racing cycles and can be readily adapted for use with riders of varying sizes by utilizing front fork pivot and seat post housings of differing configurations.

  • Patent number: 5249846
Abstract: A wheel rim, made of composite materials, for cycles and the like, is disclosed, comprising at least two adjacent box-like structures presenting a common wall and each constituted by a core of a material of cellular structure and by an envelope of rigid character, based on composite textiles of impregnated and polymerized synthetic fibers closely surrounding the core to which it is bonded, one of the box structures constituting a rim body, while the other defines an outer peripheral rim section intended to mountably recline a tire. The invention is particularly applicable to racing cycle wheels.
