  • Patent number: 7537247
Abstract: A locking element for a quick connector is provided with a matable element releasably connectable to a receiving element of the quick connector. An actuating element is in engagement with the matable element and is mounted within the matable element such that it is displaceable between a released position and a locked position. The actuating element includes a locking device that can be brought into engagement with a retaining ring on an insertable element of the quick connector in an arrangement wherein the locking device is mated with the receiving element in the locked position. Secure attachment of the locking element to the quick connector and ease of use are thereby achieved.

  • Publication number: 20080111372
Abstract: A locking element (10) for a quick connector is provided with a matable element (11) on which are configured means for effecting a snap connection (18, 19) with a receiving element of a quick connector, and an actuating element (15) that is in engagement with the matable element (11) and is mounted in the matable element (11) such that it is displaceable between a released position and a locked position. The actuating element (15) comprises locking means (22, 23, 25, 26) that can be brought into engagement with a retaining ring configured on an insertable element of the quick connector in an arrangement of the locking element (10) wherein it is mated onto a receiving element in the locked position. Secure attachment of the locking element (10) to the quick connector and ease of use are thereby achieved.

  • Patent number: 6672625
Abstract: A separable rapid-action coupling serves for connecting fluid lines includes a tubular plug-in part with a circumferential holding rib, a coupling housing with a cylindrical receptacle cavity for the plug-in part and a separate holding element. The holding element has elastically expandable holding edges that are radially directed into the receptacle cavity. The holding edges engage behind the holding rib after insertion of the plug-in part. A safety clip with a second locking mechanism is situated in front of the plug-in opening of the housing in case the snap-in mechanism of the holding element fails. The safety clip includes a frame that fits on the end face of the coupling housing and two elastically expandable clips that engage corresponding projections on the coupling housing. The safety clip has snap-in fingers that can be inserted into the receptacle cavity.

Abstract: The separable rapid-action coupling serves for connecting fluid lines, in particular, fuel lines in the manufacture of automobiles. This coupling consists of a tubular plug-in part (3) with a circumferential holding rib (4), a coupling housing (1) with a cylindrical receptacle cavity (6) for the plug-in part (3) and a separate holding element (2) with elastically expandable holding edges (5) that are radially directed into the receptacle cavity (6), with said holding edges engaging behind the holding rib (4) after the insertion of the plug-in part (3). A safety clip (9) with a second locking mechanism is situated in front of the plug-in opening (8) of the housing (1) in case the snap-in mechanism of the holding element (2) fails. The safety clip (9) consists of a frame (11) that is adapted to the end face (10) of the coupling housing (1) and can be engaged on corresponding projections (13) of the coupling housing (1) by means of two elastically expandable clips (12).

  • Patent number: 6089616
Abstract: An indicator device for use with a detachable plug assembly includes a pair of spaced apart rings joined together by a pair of elongated connecting portions. The connecting portions extend in an axial direction between the rings. The connecting portions each have a outwardly curved bridging strip portion extending between a pair of flexible webs. The rings are mounted between the plug housing and the flange on the tubular insert member so that the bridging strips bulge outwardly to form a loop when the insert member is fully inserted into the plug to indicate that the insert member is properly locked within the plug. The indicator device may be connected either to the plug housing or to the insert member prior to assembly.
