Patent number: 11968344Abstract: A watermark image may be generated that includes a first set of encoded pixels each of which is assigned a first transparency value and a second set of encoded pixels each of which is assigned a second transparency value, the second transparency level being different from the first transparency level. The encoded pixels may be distributed among a set of blank pixels such that each encoded pixel neighbors one or more blank pixels in the watermark image, and in particular at least two blank pixels in the watermark image. Herein, each blank pixel may be assigned the second transparency value. The watermark image may be overlaid and blended over a background source image to create an encoded source image. A decoder system may recover encoded information from the encoded source image.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2022Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Abdullah Hassan Gharaibeh, Michal Dabrowski, Ryan Matthew Haggarty, Igor Foox-Rapoport, Wan Wang, Duncan Geoffrey Hector Wood, Dany Kuminov, Matthew Young-Lai, Bhavin Vyas, George Jacob Levitte, Jean Semere

Patent number: 6738735Abstract: A method is disclosed for determining the efficiency of an absorbent article having first and second absorbent layers. The method comprises the steps of selecting a density for the first absorbent layer and for the second absorbent layer. A basis weight for each of the first and second absorbent layers is selected which is at least about 100 grams per square meter. A desired percentage of a superabsorbent to be present in each of the first and second absorbent layers is also selected. The percentage of a superabsorbent present in the first absorbent layer is greater than the percentage of a superabsorbent present in the second absorbent layer.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2000Date of Patent: May 18, 2004Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: Earle Harry Sherrod, Kuo-Shu Edward Chang, Billie Jean Matthews

Patent number: 6710225Abstract: Absorbent article including an absorbent core having multiple absorbent layers. The absorbent layers interact in a manner which desirably locates absorbed liquid in an appointed, high saturation wicking layer.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2000Date of Patent: March 23, 2004Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: Rob David Everett, Thomas Gerald Bolwerk, Richard Norris Dodge, II, Violet May Grube, Yong Li, Debra Jean McDowall, Shannon Kathleen Melius, Lawrence Howell Sawyer, David Louis Zenker, Xiaomin Zhang, Sylvia Bandy Little, Billie Jean Matthews, Sridhar Ranganathan, Stanley Michael Gryskiewicz, Kuo-Shu Edward Chang

Patent number: 6465712Abstract: There is provided an absorbent system for personal care products which may be transversely divided into about an equally sized center zone, two intermediate zones and two end zones where the ratio of the amount of liquid stored in the center zone to the amount of liquid stored in at least one of the end zones 30 minutes each of three insults of 80 ml according to a MIST Evaluation Test after less than 5:1. Such an absorbent system may be used in personal care products like diapers, training pants, feminine hygiene products, absorbent underpants, adult incontinence products, and the like.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 2000Date of Patent: October 15, 2002Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: Billie Jean Matthews, Richard Allen Anderson, Andrew Scott Burnes, Kuo-Shu Edward Chang, Richard Norris Dodge, II, Stanley Michael Gryskiewicz, Connie Lynn Hetzler, Margaret Gwyn Latimer, Yong Li, Sylvia Bandy Little, Tamara Lee Mace, James Brian Riddle, Lawrence Howell Sawyer, Eugenio Go Varona, Hoa La Wilhelm

Patent number: 6437214Abstract: A distinctive absorbent article includes an absorbent core having multiple absorbent layers, wherein the absorbent layers interact in such a manner which preferentially locates absorbed liquid in an appointed, high saturation wicking layer. The localization of the liquid within this wicking layer increases the potential of this layer to move liquid through capillary action due to the higher saturation level and increased amount of liquid available. The intake capability of the absorbent system is maintained or improved over current systems by keeping a second layer of the absorbent system at low saturation levels through as many insults of the product as possible, while providing optimum intake performance through appropriate control of the composite properties.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2000Date of Patent: August 20, 2002Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: Rob David Everett, Thomas Gerald Bolwerk, Richard Norris Dodge, II, Violet May Grube, Yong Li, Debra Jean McDowall, Shannon Kathleen Melius, Lawrence Howell Sawyer, David Louis Zenker, Xiaomin Zhang, Sylvia Bandy Little, Billie Jean Matthews, Sridhar Ranganathan, Stanley Michael Gryskiewicz

Patent number: 5843063Abstract: A multifunctional material is provided for use in personal care products. The multifunctional material has a permeability between 100 and 10000 Darcys and a capillary tension between about 2 and 15 cm. Structures containing this multifunctional material can have a runoff rate of less than 25 ml per 100 ml insult, over its life. The multifunctional material should have between about 30 and 75 weight percent of a slow rate superabsorbent, between 25 and 70 weight percent of pulp and from a positive amount up to about 10 percent of a binder component. The material preferably has a density between about 0.05 and 0.5 g/cc. The material has a liquid pass through function which desorbs a surge material across time frames consistent with user conditions and releases the liquid for distribution to remote storage locations. The material, when combined with the intake and distribution materials, defines a composite structure for use in personal care products.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 1996Date of Patent: December 1, 1998Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: Richard Allen Anderson, Andrew Scott Burnes, Kuo-Shu Edward Chang, Stanley Michael Gryskiewicz, Connie Lynn Hetzler, Margaret Gwyn Latimer, Yong Li, Sylvia Bandy Little, Tamara Lee Mace, Billie Jean Matthews, James Brian Riddle, Lawrence Howell Sawyer, Hoa La Wilhelm
