  • Patent number: 4787817
Abstract: A device for maintaining clearance between rotor blades and a surrounding housing is disclosed in which the device radially expands or contracts to match the expansion or contraction of the rotor blade tips. The expansion or contraction of the device is achieved by thermal transfer between the device and the gasses passing over the rotor blades. The device has several alternating segments having different thermal characteristics such that the expansion/contraction characteristics of the rotor blade can be accurately matched by the device.

  • Patent number: 4732536
Abstract: A turbo-machine compressor which includes variable incidence stator vanes the angular adjustment of which is controlled by a control ring coupled to individual vanes by individual links. Each link has at least one contact surface on each of its longitudinal edges, such surfaces being either plane or convex. In the event of failure of any link, the change in orientation is controlled within narrow limits by contact with the contact surfaces of adjacent links which have not failed.

  • Patent number: 4462902
Abstract: The invention relates to means for filtering a liquid containing impurities. Said means comprise a filtering drum (9) rotating within a housing (1) and having around it an annular chamber (13) into which opens a conduit (6) for supplying the liquid to be filtered and a conduit (7) for evacuating the liquid leaving the drum and for cleaning the corresponding section. The lateral wall of the drum (9) is equipped with sliding blades (11) which prevent any and all communication between the two conduits (6) and (7). The filtered liquid is evacuated through the lower wall (9d) of the drum (9) through the lower wall (9d) of the drum (9) through an axial opening. The invention applies in particular to the filtration of fuel for aircraft engines.

  • Patent number: 4420289
Abstract: The invention concerns a system for successively producing fluid flows at staggered values. This system includes for example an epicycloidal differential of which a shaft is coupled to an engine, and the other two shafts to two pumps respectively producing the maximum necessary flow and producing the minimum flow; to each pump is connected a brake; when the circuit, for example a jack, fed by this system becomes saturated, the pressure of the fluid sent by the high flow pump increases and reaches a threshold detected by a pressure detector-switch, the latter applies the brake which stops the pump and releases the brake of the other pump. The invention is applicable for example to feeding hydraulic jacks, in particular for turboshaft engines.

  • Patent number: 4369658
Abstract: A device for detecting a difference between the speeds of rotation of two revolving shafts wherein a movable body is laid out between two dead-head systems mounted opposite one another and caused to rotate by each of the shafts in such a way that the body is displaced between two end positions, either suddenly if the sum of the tensions of the two systems is positive, or gradually if such sum is negative so as to measure, for example, the difference in speeds in a twin engine jet or to produce control devices or devices to trigger automatic systems.

  • Patent number: 4359617
Abstract: A weighted trigger device in which the centrifugal force of weights revolving in conjunction with an input shaft is used to displace a movable element axially and in opposition to the force of a spring in order to trigger a control system. The resistance of the weight system is positive and greater at all points to the resistance of the spring.
