    Abstract: A beater of the type that includes a whisk assembly that rotates inside a bowl closed by a lid. The whisk assembly is mounted in a shell which rotates slowly inside the bowl. A seal is provided between the shell and a drive shaft mechanism. The seal is activated in response to movement of the lid off the bowl.
