  • Patent number: 8663111
Abstract: The invention relates to an instrument for measuring the elasticity of a human or animal organ located behind the ribs. The instrument includes a casing having an actuator therein, the end of which is equipped with a transducer that is actuated in order to measure the elasticity of the organ. The measuring instrument also includes a mechanism for centering the transducer between the ribs.

  • Patent number: 7578789
Abstract: A device for measuring elasticity of a human or animal organ or viscoelastic media having an ultrasonic signal after ultrasonic illumination including at least one sensor including an ultrasonic transducer, at least one position sensor, an actuator to trigger the device connected by wire link to an electric power source, and a controlled electrodynamic actuator attached to the ultrasonic transducer that generates a transitory low-frequency impulse having a frequency range between about 1 Hz and about 5000 Hz.

  • Patent number: 7553283
Abstract: A device for measuring elasticity of a human or animal organ, or viscoelastic environments presenting an ultrasonic signal after ultrasonic illumination and consecutively establishing a representation in two or three dimensions of the elasticity, including at least one ultrasonic bar including a plurality of transducers, an excitor that generates and delivers a low-frequency, direct or indirect applied force, a receiver that acquires ultrasonic signals, a controller that commands and processes data, and a scanner that carries out scanning with the bar in one dimension (1D) or in two dimensions (2D) in two perpendicular directions, respectively, to obtain a representation of the measure of the elasticity in two (2D) or three dimensions (3D).

  • Publication number: 20090099448
Abstract: A system and method are provided for an imaging system that may be used to measure the elasticity of an organ. In the system, an electronic transducer forms an image of a human or animal organ. A mobile part may be moved in translation or rotation, and is arranged to induce the propagation of low frequency vibration in the direction of the organ when actuated. The mobile part delivers the vibrational energy against the human or animal body. The transducer has a fixed part that also emits similar energy. By application of energy to the mobile and fixed parts, and by collection of energy, a control and calculation module may compute parameters of internal organs, such as elasticity.

  • Publication number: 20080058644
Abstract: The invention relates to an instrument (1) for measuring the elasticity of a human or animal organ located behind the ribs (2). The inventive instrument is of the type that consists of a casing (3) comprising an actuator, the end of which is equipped with a transducer (4) that is actuated in order to measure the elasticity of the organ. The invention is characterised in that the measuring instrument (1) also comprises a means (7) for centring the transducer (4) between the ribs (2).
