  • Patent number: 6389919
Abstract: A motor vehicle gear box which includes at least two parallel longitudinal shafts and at least two gear assemblies including an idler of the first shaft geared to a stationary pinion of the second shaft. Coaxial rings are provided for jaw clutching the idlers on their shafts. The gear shift yokes of the rings are controlled, and the yokes are mounted sliding longitudinally and are provided with transverse legs having ends which bear contact keys, transversely aligned along an arc, which can be received in an actuator fork, and which is capable of being controlled in transverse movement along the arc and parallel to the shafts for selecting respectively one yoke, and engaging the associated ratio by displacing the yoke longitudinally. The yokes are mounted sliding on a common longitudinal axle.

  • Patent number: 6289757
Abstract: A motor vehicle gearbox which includes at least two parallel primary and secondary shafts, respectively connected in rotation to an engine, and through a main transmission, to a wheel. The primary shaft bears a first idler gear to a second stationary pinion borne by the secondary shaft. The first idler is capable of being jaw clutched on the primary shaft for transmitting engine power to the wheel. A self-disengaging control selectively accelerates or brakes the primary shaft which bears the idler so as to synchronize them before linking them in rotation. A self-disengaging accelerator accelerates the primary shaft if its speed is less than that of the idler, and a self-disengaging brake brakes the primary shaft if its speed is greater than that of the idler.

  • Patent number: 4532824
Abstract: An automobile automatic transmission control device consists of a sector fixed to a vehicle. A control lever is pivoted to the sector about a fixed axis. A plurality of lockout notches are formed on an edge of the sector along a locus centered on said fixed axis. A plurality of self-locking notches are formed in said sector about a locus centered on said fixed axis. The control lever is provided with a rod biased into engagement with the lockout notches so as to prevent the unintentional pivoting of the lever. The control lever is also provided with a plurality of self-locking elements which cooperate with the self-locking notches to establish transmission selection positions. The rod can be moved out of engagement with the lockout notches by engagement of a trigger release mounted on one end of the lever.

  • Patent number: 4509384
Abstract: The low demultiplication manual control lever (1) swivels at a fixed point (2) by means of an elastic block (3). The lever's (1) longitudinal and transverse movements are transmitted by a change rod (6) to a demultiplication link (9) at one point of which an output lever (14) is fixed by a joint (16), this output lever (14) being connected to the control shaft (13) carrying the peg (12) changing the gears in the gearbox. Therefore the demultiplication of the manual lever (1) movement is performed immediately next to the gearbox and partly inside it. This results in excellent efficiency with respect both to force and to movement.

  • Patent number: 4492130
Abstract: The ball joint (2) of an automotive vehicle's gear lever (1) is mounted in an intermediate component (5) comprising a massive base connected to a movable element (4) and possesses projecting protuberances (12) on its surface which faces the other fixed element (6).

  • Patent number: 4467672
Abstract: Transmission differential consisting of a case containing two driven bevel sun gears and bevel planet gears driving the latter mounted loose on a planet wheel pin mounted through corresponding holes made in the case, characterized in that the said pin is held in position by means of a circular peg on the end of the differential closing sun wheel assembly which engages with a groove in the said planet wheel pin.
