  • Patent number: 6750280
Abstract: A thermosetting composition consists essentially of a mixture of (A) a polymer containing acid anhydride groups, (B) a molecular sieve being partially loaded with at least one amine, and (C) a filler capable of releasing water upon heating at a temperature above the processing temperature of the mixture of (A), (B) and (C). The processing temperature is chosen so as to be below the desorption temperature of the amine from the molecular sieve. The composition is particularly useful in making hot melt adhesives and sheetings of electric cables.

  • Patent number: 6562477
Abstract: The invention concerns a heat sealing composition including an adhesive framework and a framework forming constituent, the adhesive constituent being a maleic vinyl-anhydride ethylene-acetate polymer or a vinyl ethylene-acetate polymer modified to have epoxy functions and the framework forming constituent being selected from among a block polyether amide, modified or not, and a block polyether ester. The composition is useful for making closure plugs.

  • Patent number: 6218471
Abstract: The present invention relates to crosslinkable hot-melt adhesive compositions in the form of prepolymer containing free isocyanate functional groups; the said prepolymer results from the reaction of a polyisocyanate and of a copolymer (A) of ethylene and of at least one unsaturated carboxylic acid ester and containing hydroxyl functional groups. These adhesives are crosslinked by the ambient moisture.

    Filed: May 29, 1997
Date of Patent: April 17, 2001
    Assignee: Elf Atochem S. A.
Inventors: Jean-Yves Chenard, Jean Lebez, Jean-Michel Pierrot
  • Patent number: 6207785
Abstract: The invention relates to hot-melt adhesive (HMA) compositions which are provided in the form of a polymer containing free isocyanate functional groups, the said polymer resulting from the reaction of a polyisocyanate (A), of a polydienopolyol (B) and of a copolymer (C) of ethylene containing hydroxyl functional groups. They have a low viscosity and can thus be employed from 110° C. They can be crosslinked with atmospheric moisture.
