Abstract: A method of determining an integer ambiguity search space includes: obtaining, at an apparatus, a code phase measurement of a satellite vehicle signal comprising a pseudorandom noise code and a carrier signal; obtaining, at the apparatus, spatial information corresponding to a wireless terrestrial signal transferred between the apparatus and a terrestrial base station; determining, at the apparatus, a satellite positioning system carrier phase integer ambiguity search space based on the code phase measurement; and constraining a size of the satellite positioning system carrier phase integer ambiguity search space based on the spatial information.

Abstract: Techniques for Ultra Wide-Lane (UWL) Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning a mobile device may include obtaining, using a multi-band GNSS receiver of the mobile device: a first carrier-phase measurement of a first GNSS signal on a first GNSS carrier frequency, and a second carrier-phase measurement of a second GNSS signal on second GNSS carrier frequency. Techniques may further comprise providing a position estimate of the mobile device, wherein: the position estimate is determined from a wide-lane (WL) combination of the first carrier-phase measurement and the second carrier-phase measurement, and the WL combination has a combined carrier phase noise that is less than a pseudo-range noise of the first carrier-phase measurement and a pseudo-range noise of the second carrier-phase measurement.

When a location service is initiated, a network-based entity is alerted to the service initiation. The network-based entity generates a message to inquire of network-based information that facilitates the location determination of the mobile station pursuant to the location service. When the information is obtained, the information is forwarded to the mobile station. The information is used at the mobile station to facilitate the effectuation of the location service.

Abstract: An Internet protocol (IP) based location system that employs a global positioning system (GPS) component in connection with a position determining entity (PDE) component to determine location of target mobile station(s) via the Internet. As such the system provides an internet protocol based scheme (e.g., UDP) to initiate a location determination session within a CDMA network. The system can provide a location determining service even when the mobile station(s) are not within a home network (e.g., roaming situations). The system can also employ HTTP over TCP/IP so as to facilitate communications between the mobile station(s) and a mobile positioning center (MPC) (e.g., authentication and/or security protocols/schemes). Furthermore, the system can identify a PDE of a plurality of available PDEs that is most suitable for a given state of the mobile station and/or state of the user and/or particular location based application being employed by the mobile station.
