  • Publication number: 20170161375
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system for clustering electronic documents generates a signature for each document in the form of a sequence of hashes, and saves each signature in a collection of fields of a data store, each hash in a separate field. A search and indexing engine is configured to create an index of all stored signature hashes and to return a document similarity rating in response to a fielded signature query listing hash, field pairs defining a reference signature. Documents which signatures are returned to the query with a similarity rating exceeding a threshold are assigned to a same cluster.

  • Patent number: 6945097
Abstract: The invention involves an apparatus and method for calculating characteristics of materials, such as equivalent strain, using an indenter where the method used is independent of indenter geometry. The method includes performing a scratch test to calculate the strain for each of a plurality of indenter shapes, such as a theoretical sphere and cone, using known equations. The strain of a composite indenter, such as a cone with a rounded tip, can then be determined taking into account contributions from each of the plurality of theoretical shapes.

  • Patent number: 4481228
Abstract: A paint sprayer is disposed substantially on the axis of an almost closed (omega-shaped) loop formed by a transporter. Its axis of rotation is aligned so that the area in which the sheet of atomized paint it produces intersects the cylinder defined by the axes of the objects to be painted lies in an area contained between but reaching as far as circles delimiting the part-cyclindrical surface over which the objects move. An annular nozzle connected to a source of pressurized gas is disposed behind a rotating bowl of the sprayer so that an annular gas jet is directed onto the initial part of the thin sheet of atomized paint. The pressure of the gas fed to this nozzle is modulated periodically so that the aforementioned intersection area reaches the delimiting circles alternately and periodically.

  • Patent number: 4265651
Abstract: The invention relates to a fire-finishing machine for glass articles, of the type comprising a frame, a vertical rotary assembly mounted on the frame, drive means for ensuring the rotation of the vertical assembly which further comprises means for supporting article supporting cups intended to move over a circular path and burner holder means provided to follow the cups in their movement, wherein the supply of the burners is subjected to the action of adjustable means for opening and closing the flows of fuel so that the burners are adjusted once and for all in optimum manner and it is possible to vary the portion of path of the cups where fire-finishing takes place. The invention is more particularly applied to the manufacture of glass articles whose shape may or may not be of revolution.
