  • Patent number: 11519702
Abstract: A cartridge includes a cartridge case having a shell having a first end portion, a second end portion opposite the first end portion and a cylindrical body extending from the first end portion to the second end portion. A reinforcing cap includes a base, a sidewall extending from the base and surrounding the first end portion such that the first edge of the shell abuts an inner face of the base, and a projection extending from the inner face. A ring is pressed against the inner face and forms an air-tight seal between the projection, the inner face, the ring, and the first end portion of the shell. A plurality of indentations form protrusions in the sidewall and the first end portion for interlocking the reinforcing cap to the shell and retaining the ring against the inner face of the base.

  • Patent number: 11021577
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to lignocellulosic materials comprising phosphorylated lignocellulosic fibers having an ionic charge in water of about 4000 to about 7000 mmoles/kg, and processes for the preparation thereof. The process comprises reacting lignocellulosic fibers of a lignocellulosic material with a phosphate ester in the presence of urea. The present disclosure further relates to compositions comprising a phosphate ester and at least one of a defoamer and a viscosity reducer or at least one of a C1-C12 alcohol and an ester of a carboxylic acid.

  • Patent number: 5944953
Abstract: A corn stalk and straw chip pulping method to greatly improve the yield of pulp by 1) preconditioning the corn stalk with propionic acid when harvesting or by impregnating the straw with HNO.sub.2 in the mill after chip washing, and 2) by pulping the stalk or straw chips in a high-consistency pulper with a KOH liquor, with or without K.sub.2 SO.sub.3, at a 12 to 15 percent consistency at 90.degree. C. for a predetermined time period (30 to 60 minutes). The pulping improvement step increases the yield of corn stalk and straw pulp from approximately 40 percent to 70 to 75 percent.
