  • Patent number: 4747732
Abstract: A closed apparatus of potential fluidization type, for conveying powder materials in a dense bed from a storage region (31) to at least one region to be fed therewith, comprising a storage tank (48) for storing the powder material, referred to as a reserve container, which comprises between the two regions at least one horizontal conveyor (33) formed by a lower duct (35) for a flow of gas, an upper duct (36) for a flow of the powder material and the gas, between which ducts is disposed a porous wall (34), and at least one conduit (38) for feeding gas to the lower duct, which makes it possible to establish a pressure Pf that creates a dense potential-fluidization bed of the powder material that fills the conveyor, by virtue of the presence of at least one balancing column (39), the filling height (56) of which balances the pressure Pf of the potential-fluidization gas, the improvement wherein the closed storage tank or reserve container (48) of the region to be supplied with material, being provided with an in

  • Patent number: 4741443
Abstract: In a fluidized bed apparatus for separation of two mixed solid phases of which one is formed by a fluidizable powdery material and the other is formed by a material which is not fluidizable under the conditions of fluidization of the former, an enclosure is suspended by springs and formed by a lower casing portion (1) for a flow of gas and an upper casing portion (2) for a flow of fluidized powdery materials, between which there is disposed a porous fluidization wall (3), at least one conduit (4) for feeding gas to the lower casing portion (1) and at least one conduit (5) for discharging the fluidization gas from the upper casing portion (2). The upper casing (2) includes an inlet (6) for the regular introduction of the mixture of the two solid phases to be separated, an overflow (7) on a face of the enclosure for discharge of the fluidized solid phase, and an outlet for discharge of the settled solid phase.

  • Patent number: 4692068
Abstract: An apparatus for the distribution at a regulated rate of a fluidizable powdery material has a storage container (1), a porous wall and air conduit for fluidizing the powdery material and an orifice for discharging the fluidized powdery material. A casing (2) has two parts, an upper part (2A) connected to the storage container and to the orifice, and a lower part (2B) which is separated from the upper part (2A) by the porous fluidization wall (4). The upper part (2A) of the casing is connected at one of its ends (7A), to the storage container (1) by a column (3), at an upper part of its opposite end, to a balancing and degassing column (6) and, in its lower part (7B), to the outlet orifice (8) for the fluidized powdery material, which is disposed immediately above the level of the porous fluidization wall (4). The lower part (2B) is connected to an intake (5) for fluidization gas at a regulated pressure.

  • Patent number: 4659263
Abstract: An improved closed apparatus for conveying powder materials from a storage region to at least one region to be supplied. The apparatus includes at least one horizontal conveyor formed by a lower gas flow duct, an upper duct for flow of the powder and gas, and a porous wall separating the ducts. At least one conduit supplies gas to the lower duct, permitting the establishment of a pressure Pf. The conveyor is provided with at least one balancing column the height of filling of which balances the pressure Pf of the potential fluidization gas for the purpose of potentially fluidizing the material filling the conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4340136
Abstract: Apparatus for handling powder substance, comprising a central feed pipe, an outer pipe, a bell-like member of large section which is disposed around the outer pipe and which communicates therewith by way of filter openings, a corolla-like member which is suspended from the bell-like member and into which open the lower ends of the two pipes, a vacuum in the outer pipe, the bell-like member and the corolla-like member, said corolla member floating on the pile of powder substance by virtue of the support effect of the vacuum in the bell-like member.

  • Patent number: 4279549
Abstract: A method of self regulation of a pneumatic conveyor of pulverulent material comprising a feed column at the foot of which is formed a talus, a forwarding chamber provided with a porous fluidization wall, tubes for fluidization and for supply of gas at super pressure, and conveying tubes in which a set pressure Pf is selected below the porous wall for a desired flow of material in the forwarding column, in that a pressure Pc is established above the said wall in the forwarding chamber so that a reduction in the circulation of gas at the pressure Pf through the porous wall corresponds to any increase of Pc beyond Pf while an increase in the said circulation of gas corresponds to any reduction in Pc below Pf.
