  • Patent number: 6126923
Abstract: A method for forming a striped dentifrice wherein a first dentifrice which appears unstriped when stored in a container having sidewalls at least a portion of which is transparent, is transformed into a striped dentifrice upon extrusion from the container, which method comprises storing the first dentifrice in the container provided with discharge means and striping means within the discharge means, sequentially filling the container with a striping dentifrice having a color which distinguishes the striping dentifrice from the first dentifrice, the striping dentifrice being stored in an area of the container separate from the first dentifrice, followed by filling the container with the first dentifrice, applying pressure on the dentifrices to cause the striping dentifrice to be applied to the first dentifrice within the container area in which the second dentifrice is stored and be simultaneously extruded together from the container, so that upon extrusion, the extruded dentifrice appears to have been magical

  • Patent number: 5047168
Abstract: A heavy duty detergent composition having incorporated therein a sugar ether which provides detergency boosting properties to the detergent composition. The sugar ether contains at least one long-chain alkyl groups and is stable in the presence of bleaching agent such as sodium perborate monohydrate.

Date of Patent: September 10, 1991
    Assignee: Colgate-Palmolive Co.
    Inventors: Guy Broze, Jean-Paul Delvenne
  • Patent number: 4830782
Abstract: A liquid heavy duty laundry detergent composition comprising a suspension of builder salt in nonaqueous liquid surfactant in which the high temperature cleaning performance of the composition is improved by the addition of an amphoteric surface active agent. The cleaning performance of the composition at cleaning temperatures above 60.degree. C. is substantially improved.

  • Patent number: 4752409
Abstract: The physical stability of liquid gel-like compositions based on montmorillonite, attapulgite, hectorite or other inorganic colloid-forming clay or other thixotropic thickener is greatly improved by incorporating in the composition small amounts, such as 0.1 or 0.2 weight percent, of calcium, magnesium, aluminum or zinc stearate or other polyvalent metal salt of long chain fatty acid. The aqueous compositions containing inorganic builder salts and other functional inorganic salts, chlorine bleach, bleach-stable detergent, thixotropic thickener and polyvalent metal salt of a fatty acid as a physical stabilizer remain stable against phase separation for periods in excess of twelve weeks under a wide range of temperatures. The thixotropic properties can be retained or improved using smaller levels of the clay thixotropic thickener than in the absence of the physical stabilizer. Use as liquid gel-like automatic dishwasher compositions are described.

  • Patent number: 4648983
Abstract: A liquid heavy duty laundry detergent composition comprising a suspension of builder salt in liquid nonionic surfactant in which the stability against settling of the composition is improved by the addition of small amounts of urea. The yield stress of the compositions can be improved with the same or lower plastic viscosity, especially at low concentrations of the urea. The addition of small amounts of urea also improves the dispersibility of the suspension of builder salt when the composition is added to water.
