  • Patent number: 10577228
Abstract: This automatic unfolding and folding tower crane comprises a mast and a jib which are movable between an operation configuration and a transport configuration. The mast has a first mast section (2.1) and a second mast section (2.2). The jib has a first jib section (4.1) and a second (4.2) jib section. The first jib section (4.1) has an upper limit (4.11) and a lower limit (4.12) defining a height (H4.1) of the first jib section (4.1). The first mast section (2.1) is rotatably connected to the first jib section (4.1) about a hinge axis (Y24). The jib direction (X4) is shifted with respect to the mast direction (Z2) parallel to the hinge axis (Y24). A distance between the hinge axis (Y24) and the lower limit (4.12) is greater than 75% of the height (H4.1) of the first jib section (4.1).

  • Publication number: 20030160016
Abstract: A mobile tower crane for lifting a load, wherein the mobile tower crane comprises a jib supported by a mast, the jib being swingable about a vertical axis of the crane. The mobile tower crane further comprises a hoisting block for lifting the load, wherein the hoisting block is suspended from a trolley by a load hoist line, and the trolley is movable along the length of the jib. Wherein the mobile tower crane further comprises a commercially available truck for supporting the mast, and the mast and the jib can be collapsed on top of the commercially available truck for transport between job sites.

  • Publication number: 20030127409
Abstract: In the case of a tower crane with folding mast and folding jib, the unfolding and folding movements being motorized by actuators such as rams, the invention allows automatic movement from a folded transport position to an unfolded work position or vice versa. When an unfolding or folding procedure has been selected by means of a switch and a command manipulator, the rams are actuated in turn, in a preestablished automatic sequence which corresponds to the selected procedure. The running of the sequence is controlled by means of a set of sensors which detect the arrival of mast and/or jib elements of the crane in intermediate positions and in the final position.

  • Publication number: 20020023891
Abstract: The invention relates to cranes with folding delivery jibs, made up of two or more successive elements articulated together. A rear delivery cable has a first end fixed to one side of the drum of the delivery winch and a second end fixed to the jib crab, this cable passing over a tensioning device carried by the jib root and comprising an articulated arm with a pulley urged by a gas spring. A front delivery cable has a first end fixed to the other side of the drum of the delivery winch and a second end fixed to a drum situated on the crab, this cable passing over a length compensating system consisting of a set of pulleys situated at the level of the articulation between the jib root and the jib tip.

  • Patent number: 6290078
Abstract: This device for independently controlled motorized unfolding/folding, is applicable to a crane jib, two consecutive elements of which are articulated to one another about a horizontal axle located approximately mid-way up the jib, and which have respective cross sections which allow them to nest, in the folded position. The motorization system comprises a double-acting ram and a set of link rods. The ram is articulated to the rear jib element in the region of the upper members and to two link rods, one straight and the other cranked, which form the link rod system. One link rod is articulated to the rear part of the front jib element and the other link rod is articulated to the front part of the rear jib element in the region of the lower parts of these elements.
