The electrochemical generator comprises an assembly of electrochemical cells comprising a plurality of stacked electrochemical cells and a retaining apparatus comprising holding members positioned at each extremity of the assembly and anchoring devices maintaining the holding members at a predetermined distance from one another thereby maintaining the assembly under a state of compression.
