Abstract: To consolidate session initiation protocol (SIP) messages a user equipment (UE) is made aware of all Internet Protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) applications installed in its memory and on a universal integrated circuit card (UICC) and supported communication services. By obtaining this information before the initial IMS Registration, the UE can save resources by registering all local applications and communication services in single IMS registration.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method is provided for customization of a mobile communications device's data session retry mechanism in a wireless packet data service network. The mobile communication device requests activation of a data session with a node via the wireless network and receives a reject message via the wireless network in response to the request for activation of the data session, the reject message including a cause code. If the cause code corresponds to a no-retry behavior of the data session retry mechanism of the mobile communication device, the mobile communications device no longer requesting activation of a data session with the node.

Abstract: A system and method of notifying a user of events in a customizable manner during and not during a voice call is provided. According to one aspect, the notifications are configurable to be dependant on whether or not there is an active voice call. Notifications may also be configured to be different depending on whether or not the wireless device is inside a device holster. Notifications can be configured to be different for different events so that the user may be able to associate certain notifications with certain events. The user can also configure the type of events that trigger notification. Notifications include any combination of audible cues, visual cues, and vibration cues.

Upon detecting that a cause code has been returned by a node disposed in a wireless packet data service network, a structure is interrogated to determine if the cause code is mapped to a flag relating to the device's data session retry mechanism. Responsive to determining that the received cause code is mapped as a critical cause code, the data session retry mechanism of the mobile communications device is disabled so that further signaling messages towards the network are prevented.

Abstract: A method and system for introducing support for SM rejections in a USAT network rejection event including an APN. The method and system provide the UICC with all PDP Context activation rejection cause codes received by the ME and their respective APNs. Such a method and system allows the UICC to monitor all the rejections to intelligently select an appropriate APN to activate using its Open channel command.

Abstract: A method, system and computer-usable medium are provide for managing the Open Channel for IMS command correctly the UICC to have knowledge about the specific status codes the ME received from IMS. This knowledge allows the UICC to make a smarter decision on what it attempts to do to access IMS. Accordingly, the UICC is provided with detailed information about the status codes from the IMS service to allow the UICC to make an informed decision. If the UICC does not have such knowledge, it is possible that the UICC will send potentially unwanted commands to the ME to establish access to IMS.

The method includes sending a notification of status to the first UE of the control of the collaborative session in response to receiving, from the second UE, the indication of acceptance.

Abstract: Systems and methods for radio access technology specific routing for multi-mode mobile devices are provided. For each of a number of radio access technologies supported by a mobile device, the mobile device is configured to use respective routing information. This has the advantage of allowing radio access technology specific processing to be performed.
