  • Patent number: 8796403
Abstract: The present invention relates to copolymers with polar and non-polar olefin blocks with a variable polar monomer content of 0.1 mol % to 99.9 mol %. The invention also relates to a method for obtaining copolymers with olefin blocks and vinyl polar monomer blocks, said method using a single-component catalytic system made up of an organometallic complex containing a metal belonging to groups VIII to X. Said organometallic complex is advantageously active in the medium without adding cocatalyst.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 27, 2009
Date of Patent: August 5, 2014
Assignees: Arkema France, CNRS, Ecole Superieure de Chimie Physique Electronique de Lyon
Inventors: Christophe Navarro, Alexandra Leblanc, Vincent Monteil, Roger Spitz, Christophe Boisson, Jean-Pierre Broyer

  • Patent number: 7060767
Abstract: The invention discloses a solid catalytic component comprising a metallocene, at least one first ligand of which comprises a cyclopentadienyl group chemically bonded via a methyl group to a support composed of a porous inorganic compound. It also discloses a process for the preparation of such a solid catalytic component. Application to the polymerization and copolymerization of olefins.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 26, 2002
Date of Patent: June 13, 2006

  • Patent number: 6780946
Abstract: Activator solid support for metallocenes as catalysts in the polymerization of olefins, characterized in that it consists of a group of support particles for a solid catalytic component, which are formed from at least one porous mineral oxide, the said particles having been modified in order to carry, on the surface, aluminum and/or magnesium Lewis-acid sites of formula: groups coming from a functionalization agent having reacted with —OH radicals carried by the base particles of the support, the functionalization reaction having been followed by a fluorination reaction. The catalytic system according to the invention comprises (a) a metallocene catalyst, which has, if required, been subjected to a prealkylation treatment; (b) a cocatalyst; and (c) an activator solid support for metallocene, as defined above, it being possible for the cocatalyst (b) to be absent if the metallocene catalyst (a) has been prealkylated.
