  • Patent number: 5302775
Abstract: Process for the catalytic conversion of a charge incorporating at least one oxygen compound such as methanol, into olefinic hydrocarbons having 2 to 4 carbon atoms. Conversion takes place in a reactor (100), into which the charge is introduced by the pipe (20), the catalytic solid by the pipe (30) and the solid entrainment gas by the pipe (40), the reactor being connected by a pipe (1) to a co-current cyclone separator (S) making it possible to separate a solid phase from a gaseous phase containing the conversion products, which is recovered by the pipe (4). The solid phase is fed by the pipe (9) to a regenerator (R), in which the catalytic particles are at least partly regenerated before being returned by the pipe (80), connected to the pipe (30), to the reactor (100).

  • Patent number: 5186909
Abstract: A reaction chamber (E) comprises a calender reactor (5) comprising a device (4) for introducing a feedstock; a device (6) for carrying off the treated feedstock; at least two elementary reaction cells (52), not contiguous to one another, each one consisting of an individual feedstock distributor, an individual collector of the treated feedstock, and a catalytic bed, the cells being separated from one another by a channel (51); at least one device (V) for circulating a heat-carrying fluid in each channel (51); at least n partitions (S) for separating the flow of the heat-carrying fluid, n being an integer greater than or equal to 1; and at least n+1 means (T) for heating the heat-carrying fluid. The chamber can be used for performing the catalytic reforming of naphtha under low pressure.

  • Patent number: 5150061
Abstract: A method and a device for measuring the qualities of a fluid including at least two liquids, the two liquids having at least one characteristic intrinsic factor relative to microwaves for a given frequency, such as the loss factor. The characteristic of the fluid is measured by a microwave flux for at least two different microwave frequencies, and, with the values of the factors of the intrinsic characteristics of each of the fluids at the two frequencies being known, the respective quantities of the two liquids are determined. The invention applies in particular to measuring the concentrations and flowrates of various phases in a multiphase fluid such as a petroleum effluent having an aqueous phase.

  • Patent number: 4985209
Abstract: The invention concerns an apparatus comprising (FIG. 3):a substantially vertical reactor (1),means (2) for introducing solid particles into the upper part of the reactor, means (4) for withdrawing solid particles from the lower part of the reactor,at least one funnel defining a flared zone (25), whose apex is turned downwardly, andmeans (7 and 8) for introducing a fluid charge, formed of a liquid and a gas, into the lower part of the reactor under the funnel (25).The apparatus is characterized by the presence of a charge injection device, comprising:at least one substantially vertical leg or pipe (24) passing through the funnel, anda cap (26) covering the upper end of pipe (24), the lower part (or fringe) of the cap comprising several indentations or a series of indentations arranged over the major part of its perimeter.
