  • Patent number: 5555280
Abstract: The surface of the component (1, 2) to be protected is scanned, a jet of semitransferred arc plasma (17) into which a metal powder is introduced. The process can be applied to the production of a layer of coating (18) on the outer surface of a region of welding connection (3) between a nozzle (1) and a primary pipe (2) of a pressurized water nuclear reactor or to the coating of the inner surface or the connecting surface of an adapter passing through the reactor vessel head.

  • Patent number: 5446256
Abstract: This device comprises a laser head (10) designed to be placed inside a tubular element (12) is provided with an aperture (34) intended for the exit of a working laser beam and arranged on a movable portion (18) of the head. This movable portion (18) is driven in rotation by a motor located on the outside of the tubular element and connected to the movable portion (18) by a flexible shaft (40) and a speed reducer (38). The latter, arranged in a fixed portion (20) of the head in the vicinity of the movable portion (18), comprises five epicyclic gears (50A to 50E) coupled in series. The device is used for the sleeve lining of the primary-water tubes of a steam generator of a pressurized water nuclear reactor.

  • Patent number: 5443201
Abstract: The metal of the wall of the part (13a) in a zone which includes defects such as cracks is melted, over a defined depth, by moving over the surface of the part with the aid of a melting device (21), and then solidified. Next, a surface layer of the metal of the wall of the part (13a) which has been melted and then solidified is subjected to compression by repeated impacts of solid particles. The melting is preferably performed by a transferred-arc plasma (22) and the compression by balls set into motion by a vibrating part. The invention applies in particular to the repair of a tubular adaptor (13a) penetrating the head (1) of a nuclear-reactor vessel.

  • Patent number: 5404381
Abstract: The checking device comprises a mast (10) extending vertically in its service position and centered in the central free space of the guide tube, a flat blade-shaped element (36) pivoting on the lower part of the mast (10), a sensor (42) rotating about a pin on an outer end (36a) of the blade-shaped element, and a device (39) for rotating and powering the sensor (42) and for gathering the measurement signals emitted by it (42).

  • Patent number: 4782863
Abstract: The shutter is composed of an assembly three independent panels comprising: a central panel (2) having a flange (6) for fastening to the orifice to be closed and having a seal and two rectilinear lateral rims (16, 18), and two side panels (1, 3), each comprising, on one part of its periphery, a flange (5, 7) for fastening on the periphery of the orifice to be closed, and which is provided with a seal, and, on the other part of its periphery, a rectilinear rim (12, 14) which forms a face for support on one of the lateral rims (16, 18) of the central panel (2) and on which are mounted members (20) for positioning the side panels (1, 3) on one of the lateral rims (16, 18) of the central panel.
