  • Patent number: 5517923
Abstract: A passenger transport installation making use of a continuously moving high speed traction cable for hauling vehicles, equipped with a detachable grip, along a high speed track zone. Each vehicle comprises an on-board electric motor for driving the vehicle, uncoupled from the traction cable, along the acceleration zone and the deceleration zone and an on-board rechargeable electric battery for supplying the electric power to the motor. The capacity of the battery corresponds to the power needed for the acceleration of the vehicle and during the stopping of the vehicle in the station, the battery is connected to an electric power source for recharging the battery.

  • Patent number: 5172640
Abstract: The hauling-carrier cable of a gondola lift or chair lift is subdivided in two endless cable loops operating together. These cable loops are linked by a technical relay including two bull wheels or a bull wheel with two grooves, one for each cable loop. Transfer rails located in the technical relay permit the passage of the cabins from one cable loop to the other. The cabins, uncoupled from the cable, run on the transfer rail at the same velocity as the cable. The two bull wheels are mechanically coupled to transfer the driving power from one cable loop to the other.

  • Patent number: 4833997
Abstract: A bicable ropeway aerial transport system is disclosed which includes a pair of carrier and haulage ropes and at least two pair of end pulleys that are respectively engaged with the ropes in embarking and disembarking stations. The end pulleys in at least one of the stations are offset longitudinally and form between them a free space dimensioned to permit the engagement and disengagement of the vehicles from between the ropes in the free space.

  • Patent number: 4106638
Abstract: Installation for loading and unloading ships anchored at a distance from the shore. An overhead transporter with an aerial cable passing over the ship connects a pontoon to the shore. The moment exerted on the pontoon by the tensioned cable is compensated at least partially by an asymmetrical form of the hull of the pontoon.
