  • Patent number: 4525007
Abstract: A device is provided for preferably adjustably fixing a strap or a two-piece strap for lifting a heavy load, such as the hull of a ship, and hooking it on to the lifting apparatus. It comprises a yoke shaped piece housing a removable case or box, secured thereto by engagement, in corresponding holes in the arms of the yoke and the sides of the case, of parallel shafts, the first two serving in a way known per se for locking the strap by winding same in loops and the third, which is removable, as means for adjusting its length. The arms of the yoke are extended by lugs pierced with holes, either for passing therethrough a removable pin serving for guiding the active strand of the strap towards its hooking point on to the lifting apparatus, or by means of a hook, ring or similar, or by means of a known device, or by engagement of a member for coupling together two pieces disposed head to tail, one receiving a load carrying strap and the other a strap for hooking on to the lifting apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4365391
Abstract: This device for locking and adjusting a strap comprises a case fixed to a suspension member such as a hook, ring, clevis or shackle, the sides of said case having therethrough two and preferably three series of facing holes and whose face projecting from the plane of the suspension member is folded back at its base towards its other face so as to form a slit having a length equal to the width of the strap whose active strand penetrates into the case through said slit in the plane of the suspension element before being wound around two parallel removable shafts engaged in the case through the lower lateral holes, possibly after passing over a removable pin housed parallel above said shafts and engaged in the case through the upper lateral holes, so as to be able to adjust the length of the strap by pulling on the return strand or on both strands if the pin to be withdrawn for locking is present.

  • Patent number: 4293156
Abstract: This load hoisting hook is adapted to meet the requirements of automatic safety locking devices while facilitating its actuation with both heavy and light loads and comprises essentially two members, namely a suspension ring formed with a shank, and a hook proper of which one end normally engages the end of the shank as a consequence of the locking engagement produced between the opposite arm of the hook with respect to the ring due to the penetration of the end of a sliding lock bolt into a blind hole formed in the hub-like central portion of the ring which is encompassed by a fork-like extension of the opposite arm, the pivot member interconnecting the ring and hook portions of the device passing through the fork and the hub-like portion and having its axis off set laterally in relation to the axis of the cable attached to the ring, the lock bolt being actuatable by means of a trigger movable in a recess of the grip-handle forming hook body, or by a member secured inside the hook at the end of the lock bolt
