  • Patent number: 9187889
Abstract: The invention relates to a tank (100) provided with at least one effluent-filling opening and at least two effluent-emptying openings, a bucket capable of tilting between a filling position, in which it can be filled with an incoming effluent through said at least one filling opening, and a discharge position, in which it can discharge the contents thereof through one or more of said emptying openings. According to the invention, the tank (100) includes means for modifying the position of the bucket (200, 200?) so as to change the direction thereof or to enable the replacement thereof with another bucket of a different type. It is thus possible to modify the effluent outlet direction by a simple change in the bucket position. It is also possible to replace a bucket with a bucket of a different type. In this way greater versatility of the adaptation to the connection of the tank on the installation site is afforded.

  • Patent number: 7790035
Abstract: Described are a tertiary disinfection system and process for treating a liquid effluent from a domestic secondary treatment unit. The liquid effluent has pathogenic micro-organisms, remaining suspended solids and dissolved organic pollutants. The system has an inlet, a subterranean initial treatment zone filled with a filtering material for removing some suspended solids, dissolved organic pollutants and pathogenic micro-organisms. The initial treatment zone allows the liquid effluent to percolate downward. The system also has a subterranean polishing zone extending horizontally outward from the initial treatment zone, and filled with a filtering material having pore sizes allowing upward capillary dispersion of the liquid effluent. The system also has a subterranean aeration zone having an interface with the initial treatment zone and the polishing zone, to provide aeration enabling aerobic accommodation of microflora for disinfection of the effluent.

  • Patent number: 7044165
Abstract: An outflow regulator for a gravity-fed liquid outlet of a liquid reservoir comprising a restriction plate mountable within the liquid outlet for limiting a flow rate of an effluent. The restriction plate allows a lower passage for the effluent when a first level of liquid is reached within the liquid reservoir, and an upper passage for the effluent when a second level of liquid is reached. The regulator also comprises a flapgate pivotable between a closed position where the flapgate covers the lower passage of the restriction device and an open position away from the restriction plate. When the flapgate is in the closed position, the effluent is free to flow out though the upper passage. A float counterweight switches the flapgate between the opened position and closed position according to the liquid level in the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 6886588
Abstract: A buoyancy flushing apparatus is disclosed which comprises a reservoir for accumulating liquid, having an inlet for receiving liquid and an outlet chamber recessed in a bottom wall of the reservoir. The outlet chamber includes an outlet for draining liquid out of the reservoir. The apparatus further comprises an outlet valve movable between a down position where liquid accumulates in the reservoir and a raised position where liquid accumulated in the reservoir is flushed out via the outlet. The outlet valve comprises a ballast unit sized and shaped to fit loosely in the outlet chamber when said valve is in the down position; and a float unit topping the ballast unit to move the valve in the raised position by buoyancy when a sufficient amount of liquid is accumulated in the reservoir, thereby providing a passageway for liquid between the bottom wall of the reservoir and the valve leading to the outlet in the outlet chamber to flush liquid out of the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 6640828
Abstract: The flushing apparatus comprises a reservoir for storing liquid, the reservoir having an outlet end movable between a raised position where liquid accumulates in the reservoir, and a down position where liquid stored in the reservoir is flushed out; a counterweight for producing an effect of urging the outlet end of reservoir toward the raised position; a reservoir ballast for cancelling the effect of the counterweight when the liquid stored therein reaches a predetermined amount; a channel for channelling a liquid into an inlet of the ballast when the outlet end of the reservoir is in the raised position; and a means for preventing an overflow of the outlet end of the reservoir. There is also provided a method for flushing liquid.

  • Publication number: 20030085300
Abstract: The apparatus for sequentially distributing liquid in more than one direction, comprises a support and a reservoir connected to the support. The reservoir is rotatable and tiltable with respect to the support between a rest position where the liquid received therein accumulates and a flush position where liquid stored therein is flushed out via the spout. The spout is oriented such that the liquid flushing out of the reservoir causes by reaction a rotational movement of the reservoir with respect to the support. A counterweight is provided for urging the reservoir towards its rest position, the effect of the counterweight being cancelled when the liquid accumulated in the reservoir reaches a given quantity causing the reservoir to move towards its flush position and to rotate.
