  • Patent number: 8646984
Abstract: A roller assembly having a roller tube, a fixed shaft inside the roller tube, a bearing mounted on the shaft, an inner casing mounted on the bearing and rotatable with respect to the shaft, an outer casing fixedly mounted on the shaft, a shield cap mounted on the inner casing, and a seal member mounted between the roller tube, the shield cap and the inner casing for sealing the roller assembly. Facing walls of the inner casing and outer casing define inner cells and a first labyrinth path for reducing migration of contaminants through the inner cells. Facing walls of the outer casing and shield cap define outer cells and a second labyrinth path for reducing migration of contaminants through the outer cells. The facing walls of the outer casing and shield cap are provided with gel for further reducing migration of contaminants through the outer cells.

  • Patent number: 8196728
Abstract: A roller assembly is provided which includes a roller tube having outer and inner surfaces extending between ends, a pair of bearing assemblies mounted respectively at either end of the roller tube, locating assembly for axially locating the pair of bearing assemblies with respect to the roller tube, the bearing assemblies being distal from each other, and centering assembly for centering each of the bearing assemblies with respect to the roller tube. Each bearing assembly includes an axle, the axles of the bearing assemblies being independent from each other, first and second bearings positioned in a spaced apart relationship on the axle, and a casing enclosing the first and second bearings.

  • Patent number: 7206409
Abstract: Method and apparatus for uniquely identifying a copy of a motion picture disposed on a media. The method includes the steps of selecting two or more motion picture scenes. Each of the motion picture scenes is an identifiable portion of the motion picture distinct from every other portion of the motion picture. Once the scenes have been identified, two or more sequences can be defined within each of the motion picture scenes such that each sequence includes two or more frames. For example, the motion picture can have three scenes, each divided into twenty eight sequences, with each of the sequences containing 12 frames. Once the scenes and sequences have been selected, at least one of the sequences from each scene is marked to define a uniquely identifiable marking pattern on the media.

  • Patent number: 5433308
Abstract: Disclosed is a roller assembly of the type comprising a roller body provided with opposed ends, a shaft, a bearing having an inner portion and an outer portion and a casing for housing the bearing and a portion of the shaft. The casing has an exterior contacting a corresponding portion of the interior of the roller body and an interior contacting the outer portion of the bearing. The second part of the roller assembly is made of a cured material filling a gap existing between the exterior of the first part of the casing and the interior of the roller body. The material has been introduced in said gap in a fluid state and cured "in situ" without any shrinkage. The roller body according to the invention is more resistant and easier to manufacture. Also disclosed is an efficient method for manufacturing the roller assembly.
