  • Patent number: 6227341
Abstract: A clutch mechanism comprising a wear take-up device including a ring with ramps bearing an outer toothing and set between a pressure plate and support member (engagement zones) to constitute a pressure plate with varying thickness between its friction surface and the support member. A box having a worm screw cooperates with the toothing. A brake strap borne by the pressure plate and cooperating with the ramp ring is arranged such that in the vent of axial vibrations or overtravel of the clutch during declutching, the ramps do not rotate and there is no wear take-up.

  • Patent number: 5865288
Abstract: A clutch release bearing comprising a fixed portion (5, 6) including an outer body (5) and an inner support tube (6) concentric therewith and separated therefrom, and defining an axially extending blind ring-shaped cavity (50) capable of being supplied with a fluid and housing an axially movable tubular piston (4) supporting a drive member (3) engageable with the diaphragm (13) of a clutch (1). The rear end (100) of the support tube (6) has a transversely extending ring-shaped flange (61) by means of which it engage a fixed portion (21), particularly the gearbox, and the rear end of the body (5) is recessed for clamping the flange (61) between the body (5) and the fixed portion (21).

  • Patent number: 5855267
Abstract: A clutch module (100) includes a cover plate (12), a diaphragm (14), a pressure plate (16), a friction disc (18) and a reaction plate (20) mounted on a support plate (22) and fixed to the cover plate (12), the cover plate (12) includes a set of fastening lugs (66) which extend axially from a peripheral edge (58) of the cover plate (12, 56), and each of which passes axially through a corresponding axially orientated passage (68, 168) formed at the periphery (70) of one of the support plate (22) and the reaction plate (20), so as to extend axially beyond (90) the radial face (72, 172) of the element and so as to be retained axially with respect to the reaction plate (20) or support plate (22).

  • Patent number: 5853075
Abstract: The clutch module (10) includes, in succession, a cover plate (12), a diaphragm (14), a pressure plate (16), a friction disc (18) and a reaction plate (20) fixed to the cover plate (12), the reaction plate (20) being mounted on a support plate (22) by means of a set of fastening members (64), each fastening member (64) being a screw which has a head (66) received in a complementary housing (70) formed in the friction surface (32) of the reaction plate (20). Each of the cover plate (12), the diaphragm (14), the pressure plate (16) and the friction liner (36, 38) includes at least one hole (121, 141, 161, 181) enabling access to be gained to the head (66) of a fastening member (64), with the aid of a tool, when the said holes are aligned axially (Y--Y) with the head (66).
