  • Publication number: 20110051613
Abstract: A method is provided for detecting, using a mobile apparatus, the central frequency of at least one carrier of a wide-band downlink of a communication channel associated with a frequency band, wherein the at least one carrier belongs to the frequency band. The method includes a first step of measuring the value of an indicator representative of a power received by the mobile apparatus for a plurality of frequencies evenly spaced in the frequency band in order to obtain a spectrum of values of the indicator on the frequency band. The method includes a second phase of analyzing the spectrum of the indicator, which includes recognizing the shape of the at least one carrier in the indicator spectrum, and detecting the central frequency of the at least one carrier.

  • Patent number: 7668547
Abstract: A method of reselecting a cell by a mobile terminal in idle mode in a cellular telecommunication network in which the network sends to the terminal a list containing information with regard to the UMTS cells to be identified, and in which the mobile terminal periodically performs a series of procedures of identifying the cells and a series of intersystem measurements on the identified cells. Between two successive procedures of identification, the mobile terminal performs a series of procedures of measurement whose duration is fixed so that the total duration for performing a procedure of identification and the subsequent series of procedures of measurement is less than 25 seconds.

  • Patent number: 6849105
Abstract: Prior to passing through pumping apparatus effluent gas containing hydrocarbons is subjected to washing by being sprayed with aromatic type oil in oil-recirculating washing apparatus. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons contained in the effluent gas are trapped by being absorbed in the oil. The method is suitable for treating effluent gas coming from an installation for chemical vapor deposition or infiltration using a reagent gas containing a precursor for pyrolytic carbon, or else coming from a cementation installation.

  • Patent number: 4712830
Abstract: A folding chair is provided comprising means for holding the chair in the opened out position, which means are foldable, means for locking these holding means in the opened out position, which comprise a bar, a slide mounted for sliding on said bar and coupled to said holding means so as to prevent said holding means from folding up again when it occupies an end position along the bar and for allowing such folding up when it leaves this end position and slides along the bar, means for locking said slide in said end position and corresponding unlocking means. Said unlocking means comprises a rod, mounted for moving on the chair so as to be able to be brought into a position in which they cooperate with said locking means for unlocking said slide.

  • Patent number: 4506930
Abstract: The present invention relates to a wheelchair which enables the patient to stand up and be supported laterally, forwardly, and rearwardly, and consists of a conventional frame resting on the ground by means of displacement members and supporting a seat. Said wheelchair has a movable structure, with two independent frames which extend parallel to the sides of the wheelchair, one frame on each side of said chair, and which are mounted for pivoting on the said conventional frame about horizontal transverse axes which permit their forward pivoting movement over substantially 90.degree. during which a set of bars pivotally mounted to said independent frames is moved from a first position of the structure, at the back of the seat, to a second position of the structure, in the free space at the front of the said seat.

  • Patent number: 4456534
Abstract: This invention is directed to an improved process for clarifying a waste water stream containing waste synthetic polymeric material in latex form. The process comprises treating the waste water stream in sequence with calcium chloride and a cationic flocculant, calcium, potassium or sodium hydroxide, and an anionic flocculant. The aggregated polymeric material which results is then separated from the waste water and an essentially clear waste water stream is thereby provided.
