Patent number: 11061793Abstract: Circuits, methods, and apparatus that may estimate the power being consumed by an OLED display screen of an electronic device, may provide further information about that power usage, may modify or change functions performed by the electronic device based on that power usage, and may inform an application's developer about the amount of power being used by the electronic device while the electronic device is running the application. One example may estimate the power being used by an OLED display screen of an electronic device by determining the content of images being displayed during a duration. The estimated power may then be presented to a user. The estimated power may be used in decisions to modify or change parameters of the screen or other device components.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2018Date of Patent: July 13, 2021Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Abhinav Pathak, Conor J. Patent number: 9940879Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to systems and techniques for calibrating displays to improve the white point uniformity between similar type devices. In one embodiment, a backlight includes multiple strings of LEDs, where each string is driven by a separate driver, or driver channel. Each string may be separately tested at a base current to determine its emitted chromaticity, and values indicative of the emitted chromaticities may be stored within the backlight as calibration values. The calibration values may then be used to determine the driving strength for each string that allows the display to produce the target white point when the light from the strings is mixed. Further, in certain embodiments, adjustments also may be made to the LCD panel based on the emitted chromaticities at the base current.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2011Date of Patent: April 10, 2018Assignee: APPLE INC.Inventors: Shawn Robert Gettemy, Joshua Grey Wurzel, Jean-Pierre Simon Guillou, Ming Xu, David Andrew Doyle

Patent number: 5732843Abstract: Cover to place on a door (5) with unlocking by means of rotation as to slightly open it and making it possible to appropriately sterilize the entire inside of the receptacle it closes, whilst enabling bactericide vapors to easily reach the surfaces adjacent to the door. In order to do this, the cover includes a fixed dome portion (20) flanged on the receptacle around the door, and a handling device (40 to 42) created through the dome and able to grip the door so as to slightly lift it up without breaking its imperviousness.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1996Date of Patent: March 31, 1998Assignee: La CalheneInventors: Charles Glachet, Jean-Pierre Simon

Patent number: 4865810Abstract: A centrifuge for performing biological and medical analyses for samples in test packs mounted in holders peripherally disposed on the centrifuge rotor. The test pack holders are also rotated relative to the rotor by means of a mechanical spinning portion fitted below the rotor. Analyses are made with a spectrophotometric measuring device, whose optical path is perpendicular to the plane of the rotor.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 1987Date of Patent: September 12, 1989Assignee: Kis Photo IndustrieInventor: Jean-Pierre Simon

Patent number: 4857274Abstract: A device for analyzing a liquid sample such as blood includes a cartridge portion and a casing portion. The cartridge includes an inlet for directly receiving a sample. The cartridge is then irreversibly clipped to the casing so that an inlet of the casing is in communication with an outlet of the cartridge. The sample is then mixed in the casing with a diluent and/or reagent by using a centrifuge, and measurements are taken. The device allows a sample to be taken directly into the cartridge, and restricts employment of the device to a single use.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1987Date of Patent: August 15, 1989Assignee: Kis Photo IndustrieInventor: Jean-Pierre Simon
